I just received an email from the Medicare Opinion Panel that I participate doing surveys about my medicare experience. I'm pretty new with medicare but received an invite to join from another panel.

In essence with hopes of increasing the number of their panel members they are offering an incentive for two (2) qualifying referrals.

A little bit about the Panel: Not a lot of surveys (1 or 2) but a guarantee of $5.00 Tango gift card for each survey completed. I've never been unqualified since I've joined the Panel and I use my gift for Amazon credits.

If anyone is interested in being one of two you can PM me and I will send you the link for the qualifying survey.

    Thank you for reading.

Hi Al. I'll send the email address to your PM that has the instructions to let the Panel know you are interested.

So, I guess the Panel would love to hear all of the "pluses/likes" about Medicare, but what about those that have problems with Medicare? A company/organization always likes to hear the "likes", but when it comes to the "dislikes about this/that", it can go on deaf ears.

So, Von, just how good is this Panel and how much do they pay attention to both the "good" and the "bad" of Medicare?

I'm on both VA Medical and Medicare, but mostly VA Medical.

I don't have an answer to your question which I always wonder about myself. I would think with the effort to increase the number on the Panel that something beneficial is occurring with the responses.

Today, I got the first survey invitation. After I put in my age, they said I didn’t qualify, but they hoped to hear from me later (or similar words). I don’t know if that means I am totally screened out, or just did not fit that particular survey.
I guess I just wait and see.

Update: I messaged them, and they said that my age does mean that I do not qualify for the panel at all.

And, there are those that say "age discrimination doesn't happen".

So was I. It would help if they actually gave out some requirements (such as acceptable age), and not just say there was a mistake. I am guessing that maybe the cut-off age might be 75, since both you and I are older than that, and that is the age that some insurance companies stop selling insurance to someone.
I do not understand the age limitations, because if a person can share their experiences with medicare, that should be helpful, regardless of the person’s age.

I small something fishy. @Von Jones contact Medicare by phone yourself, perhaps someone in sleas and marketing to see if there is even such a thing.

@Yvonne Smith and @Al Amoling I wish I had an explanation for what's happening but I don't. Are you just not qualifying for the surveys, or have you been not accepted on the Panel? I had mentioned in another post that I haven't been qualifying on some survey sites and I believe it's because of my age but don't be discouraged just yet.

I believe the survey site is legit. I've had no problems with the rewards for completing the surveys.
