    Yeh, even my rural county is having some of that crap bleed into it.

    It's only "waste" for those of us who are funding and not receiving. Personally, the worse part is it's yet another subject that is used to force ignorance on people and to punish common sense. The dollars are secondary to the souls being destroyed.

    The one most single advance in civilization was the invention of automobiles. It provided populations to spread out and work in jobs they had never been able to work in the past. Electric is the exact opposite of advancing when the world economy is not nor will ever be geared towards being able to move freely about our world. Our normal working class economies do not allow us to spend the cost of a nice small house for a silly car that cannot do what a car has done for the past 90 years. I'm just waiting for one of those commies in office to try and outlaw my 40 year old GMC.

    You have hit a nail on its head.

    Forcing electric vehicles will cause populations to contract into urban areas, in accordance with one of the goals of U.N. Agenda 21. It makes us more controllable, because when too many rats are crammed into too small of a cage, individual rights will cause us to gnaw on each others' tails. Everyone will live in an NYC clone.

    Another indented perverted outcome for pushing electric vehicles is caused by their avoidance of paying Road Maintenance Taxes that are embedded into the price of every gallon of gas. Of course than was known when the Fed started spending our tax dollars on subsidizing the rich individuals who could afford one. So rather than focus on remedying that specific road tax loophole (that the government policy continues to increase), the "solution" is to (a) charge people on a per-mile-driven basis (thus killing the spread-out lower-income rural folks) and (b) installing tracking devices on everyone's car under the pretense of tracking "miles driven" for purposes of levying the tax. The state of Virginia (more to the point, the Democrat National Socialist Party) have unsuccessfully tried to get this passed into law twice. They will not give up.

    One of the objectives of the global agenda is to restrict travel by anyone other than the elite. By restricting travel and controlling the media, we will have no access to information.

    And as Thomas alluded, restricting travel kills the mobile workforce, which destroys individuals, businesses and the economy.

    I was just reading an article about the loss of battery in cold weather. Quite an eye-opener. From Yahoo...

    Reality check: Most electric vehicles experience some loss of driving range in cold weather.

    The government is trying to take us backwards 100 years. Not to mention the cost to take that trip back in time. If they wanted to sell electric cars no problem, but to force people to buy them is an entirely different thing. There is no shortage of energy but there is a huge shortage of money ! and intelligent elected officials ! There will never ever be a do or walk type law. Ford is famous for burning your car and house down due to faulty electronics, and that's in a conventional car. The stored battery power between a conventional car and electric car is extremely greater, get ready for a few weenie roast. Best to park one outside.

    You don't have to convince me, Thomas. I wouldn't even consider an electric vehicle. Where do the "environmentally woke" people think electricity comes from... trees?? After last winter when the Texas electrical grid couldn't even handle a 4-day cold spell I can't imagine anyone with a brain buying an electric car.

    I was just shocked to read that running the heater in an EV could cut the driving range as much as 41%! That's astonishing to me.

    While hybrids can work here, the climate precludes widespread use to EVs for the very reasons listed. There is one small charging station between Anchorage and Fairbanks--almost 200 miles from anywhere, and not using the heater for 9 months of the year would not be a possibility here. EVs can be used by commuters who commute less than 60 miles each way and have a charging station where they can plug in while at work. I have seen a few commercial delivery vehicles in Anchorage that just drive locally, but for an all-purpose personal vehicle...no way! In addition, most Alaskans pull trailers everywhere, usually loaded with snowmachines, four-wheelers, or boats. Again. not practical.

    Another story about electric vehicles. Our town in southern Maine (so it's not a cold as @Ken Anderson ) approved the fire chief getting a Tesla because it would be cheaper than his big SUV from GMC. They supposedly researched this purchase (yes they bought it) but somehow missed the cost of getting rid of it when they're done with it. I suppose they did recognize some of the winter problems but who knows. The chief carries a lot of equipment so now the equipment is carried in their new truck from GMC

    Electric cars were invented before gas-powered cars, but gasoline won out because it was more efficient.

    I read Ford Motor Company split their auto manufacturing into two divisions. Ford Blue will manufacture
    gasoline and diesel cars and trucks. Model E will manufacture their electric vehicles. A useful vehicle
    might be a good looking golf cart with doors and a heater; alight weight windshield would be optional
    or maybe a longer roof overhang. 4- Door or Pickup Truck style. Maybe have male and female styles.
