Wouldn't be hard to beat any of the grocery stores I have within reach. I have to shop at all of them to find all I want or need ;) Your Market Basket sounds wonderful and I've always love Trader Joes but rarely had the opportunity to shop in one. Trader Joes are always located in larger cities than I've lived in :(

Sorry, Al. But my HEB (Texas, baby) apparently beat your 3rd place Market Basket. :p

"First place, it seems, goes to a mom-and-pop institution called Amazon, owner of Whole Foods. Second: Texan grocer H-E-B. Directly behind Market Basket is Wegmans in fourth. Amazon Fresh was sixth, and Aldi was sixth. Trader Joe’s, land of the cookie spread, has been shunted to seventh."

Market Basket is terrific. Trader Joes is owned by Aldi.

I shop a local chain called Gerrity's with about 1/2 dozen stores and Aldi's.

We don't have a choice. All we have is Hannaford's since the IGA briefly became some other chain, and then closed.

I loved my independent grocery store back in the north part of the state (Magruder's.) They had 3 stores. I have no idea how the fire marshal let them stay open...the aisles were barely wide enough to get a cart through. And they stacked even MORE stuff in the way. But you could find anything you wanted there...you just had to look real hard.

Right now I have Walmart. The food's not the best, but the customers dress real nice.

We have Market Basket here but to far away regular buying. I still dislike Aldi, Win-co is good but like shopping a football field, with lots of crap no one really wants. Tom Thumb is excellent for many things, but very ,very high compared to others. So still stuck with Walmart for the most part. i was going to order things few mintues ago.. guess what their having technical difficulties - again - and they already show the first three things i wanted - out of stock,.:) The only HEB is up north from us :(.
Kroger and Target are few extra miles away, guess i will be going there soon.

I doubt if the Market Basket in Texas is related to my Market Basket....It's local to New England and a couple stores in NY.
