My last visit to the oncologist was this very day and I hope the last one forever. I am released to my PCP for yearly exams and blood tests. If she sees any indications, I will return to the oncologist, but he says my results of testing over the last 6 months show no indication of concern and are remarkable for my age and history. He feels my stubborn optimism, humor, fitness, and daily walking is why I am beating my gloomy genetic odds. While I am glad to be cut loose, I will miss all the wonderful people at the clinic.
The words, "Don't come back." are wonderful to hear from any doctor, especially an oncologist. I'm glad you heard them.
It was sweet music to my ear. Not ears as I am dead in one ear. Thanks, guys and gals. I walked 5 miles to my appointment just to remind the big C who is boss of my body. It is a great relief to have my personal lady business now be under the watchful eye and hand of my female advanced years PCP instead of the probing exams and gloved digits of every Harry, Dick, and Tom with an oncology/urology medical degree.
