1) ... we close the southern border to impoverished unskilled third world people who drive down our wages and inflate our welfare budget. We should deport illegal aliens already here. Let's assume there are no criminals among them and that they are all deserving people. Nonetheless, we must look after Americans first. 2) ... we place tariffs on manufactured goods from other countries. Those tariffs should be at such a level as to make American manufactured goods competitive in price with goods manufactured abroad. Such tariffs should not apply to raw materials we need for our own manufacturing. 3) ... we adopt a goal of unemployment at 3% or less. If we invest in doing things here that we have been paying foreign workers to do, we could shrink welfare rolls and all other subsidies needed for our large numbers of idle people who have no earned income. Taxes will drop dramatically. 4) ... we cease being the world's policeman. We know how we, ourselves, wish to live, and what freedoms we demand. Other peoples in other countries can follow our example without our military forcing some version of our system on them. We have very often helped overthrow foreign elected leaders who were more leftist than we liked and replaced them with strongmen friendly to us. 5) ... we do whatever it takes to end the scourge of addictive drugs poring into the country, up to and including imposing the death penalty for trafficking. 6) ... everyone votes for me for President. My cat Barney will be vice-president. He is an Independent.
Thanks, Don. I like you also and I'm not gay. I never got up to Alaska but I lived places in Oregon where we had winters perhaps as cold. My '55 Chevy had antifreeze in it for 20 below. I was driving down the road and it froze up and stalled. It was 30 below. Animals. I like em all. I've had dogs and cats my whole life. I'm thinking of getting a shelter dog - maybe an older one that no one else wants that can get used to my cats. I have a racoon who sneaks onto my back steps to eat the dry food I leave for my two outside cats. Barney is an inside only pet. I have an idea that cats are as smart as dogs but they don't seem so because they don't care as much about pleasing people as dogs. I'd be interested in what Ken thinks about that. Barney comes when I call and has gotten pretty clingy in his dotage. His appetite is good but he is skin and bones. I don't know how old he is - I'd guess 18 - because he was fully grown when he adopted me but I think I won't have him much longer.. I think I've gotten way off-topic. It's late here and I get goofy when I can't sleep.
