We've been using both CBD Deep Rub Salve and CBD Gummies/ Cubes to help with pain and sleep.

The salve is 500mg Topical Cosmetic Salve that has 23.6mg THC. It is called Full Spectrum. That is in the entire jar of salve and doesn't make wife nor I high at all, but does help with the pain. I use the salve on my shoulders each night before I go to sleep and almost on a daily basis during the day. The salve is around $90 for a small jar, but it sure lasts us quite a while.

We get 20 Gummies for $25. We cut each one in half. A whole one is just too much for us. the Gummies are 500mg CBD. That 500mg is for the entire jar. Each whole Gummy is 10 mg CBD and 1.18 THC. Again, the Gummy never gets us high.

On the days I don't take a VA Medical prescription 50mg Tramadol, I will take 1/2 a Gummy Cube. Obviously, the Gummy and the Salve don't take away my shoulder pain like the 50mg Tramadol does, but then again, the Tramadol is a controlled substance aka a legal narcotic.

The THC that is in each, isn't enough to get a mouse high, let alone a human. We will always have both on hand. Well, as long as we can afford both.

cbd seems to affect different people in different ways. there are several other phytochemicals which engage the endocannabinoid cb1 and cb2 receptors which can also be taken advantage of for different purposes.

my earliest work in biofilm engineering involved mitigation of pathogenic developments using propolis for the flavonoids it contains including quercetin. it's been almost two decades now of explorations into how these critical phytochemicals interact with our holobiome and the quorum sensing communication involved.

That is funny/interesting. It never occurred to me that propolis worked for some because of the bioflavinoids. I will have to discuss this with my bees. I have a quercetin/bromelain supplement. Curious, How much pain relief could be had through the use of all three in your findings?

bromelain is the active ingredient in pineapple, a time proven pain reliever, and protease. quercetin's effect would be enhanced by the vitamin c in pineapple if there is any present in this combination.

the process of making the propolis bioavailable is rather difficult but possible as i found early on. turned out i had been assembling phytosomes by enveloping phytonutrients in a lipid cell-like structure which the body would accept more readily.

there are other sources of quercetin but few that could rival propolis and the antioxidants it contains.

I have some hemp cream that I use sometimes. It contains hemp oil, organic aloe, and some other stuff. It sometimes seems like it might help a little, shortly after I apply it, but it doesn't last long and it clears the cats out of the room. They won't even let me pet them until after I have washed the stuff off.

When it comes to salves & balms , I sometimes wonder if .. The manual munipulation of the painful area is as soothing, as the product being applied ?

Well, basically, the two CBD products we use help our pain and really can help my wife sleep good. She's tried a couple of OTC sleep aids, but neither worked for her, like the 1/2 CBD Gummy does.

Actually, I'm giving it serious thought about getting a Cortisone shot in each shoulder. Got a Cortisone shot in my right hip in 2005, to hopefully avoid a hip replacement, but it didn't work and ended up having surgery/replacement. Since 2005, only minor hip pain if I walk to much.

Anyone here have luck with a Cortisone shot for pain?

Yes! Don't remember if I mentioned it previously or not.

Last spring I had very acute, sharp pain in my right shoulder and wrist. Ended up going to a bone-guy and he asked if I wanted a cortisone shot in my shoulder. Forty years ago my dad had them in his knees and they worked great for a few months.

And I've known people since who've had them, some with success, some not. So the doc told me that for some people they do not help, and for some people he gives them one shot and never sees them again.

So I got one in the shoulder and the next day I felt like I was 20 again. I was also doing PT and continue to this day doing them at home every other day. About 2 weeks later I got a shot in my wrist which was wracked with continuous acute pain, making it nearly worthless. Within a day or so it was probably 80-90% better.

I've never been back. IMO I have chronic inflammation which covers the confirmed osteoarthritis in my wrists/hands; rotator cuff pain in shoulders (which is tendonitis which is inflamed tendons) and tendonitis (inflamed tendon) in upper right leg.

After 70 years all those problems appeared within a month, starting in March last year. My PCP doesn't think it's chronic inflammation; I disagree. Sometimes it starts to come back (never very severe, thankfully) and, as an example -- it did a week or so ago. My hands and shoulder will all start hurting somewhat the same day, and when it wanes it does so together. This has happened several times in the past year so it clearly is systemic.

But the cortisone shots worked great for me, YMMV. Other than not working, I don't think there is any downside with getting one. Good luck.

It did not work for me but I think I was misdiagnosed.

I think the key to the steroid injection is placement. If it is not placed in exactly the proper place, it doesn't work well.

Okay, I ordered some DMSO gel with Frankincense, Aloe Vera, and some other stuff. I applied a small amount to my fingers and the arthritis pain went away completely in my right hand and considerably in my left. I don't know how long this will last but the pain went away in seconds and I have full movement of my fingers. This wasn't a matter of thinking that yeah, maybe it's helping some. The pain is gone in both hands, although I still can't flex my fingers completely in the left hand, but I mostly can. For anything to work this well, there has to be a catch. It probably causes cancer.

As it turns out, DMSO is believed to be effective against some cancers, or maybe that was the Frankincense - I forget.

I tried that stuff on my arthritic wrists last summer, but it didn't help at all. It sure stunk the place up though. :)

I know a woman who uses it on her knee every day and is a big help to her. I guess it's like any other drug -- they help some people but not others.

Oh yeah, it does stink. The smell doesn't last long, though.

There are also different types of arthritis, so maybe it works on some but not others.
