If I ever came into the money, I wouldn't mind buying a small (very small) home in a warm-weather state, so we could spend at least a portion of the winter out of the cold.
You are young enough to enjoy a few years in New Zealand.You would fit right in with the community of Motueka. It's on the north of the South Island near Nelson. My ex wife is living in Motueka. The $$$ exchange rate favors the U.S. dollar
I have wanted to see New Zealand, and have a friend there, in Auckland, I think. Can't imagine being that far from my kids and friends here, though, but maybe can get all of them to move with me.
If I had the money and I knew how much time I had left on this earth...I would buy a Lake home with a large wrap around porch big enough for my family to come and visit anytime they wanted to. And I would spend my last days in my perfect setting.

When my daughter got the job in the Netherlands, she just left her house, and it has been sitting there empty for almost a year now. She had asked her older brother if he wanted to move, but he is very happy on the property in North Idaho. Today, he called me and said that the company that he has been working for is closing in less than a month. He thinks that he would have much better job opportunities out here in Huntsville than in the small town where he now lives; so he and his wife are going to move out here and live in my daughter’s house. I can’t begin to say how excited and happy that I am to have them moving out here ! ! He said that he will probably still be doing some work even after the company officially closes down for business, but expects to be moving out here sometime in June most likely. Laura often works from home anyway, so her company said it would be no problem for her to move out here and still keep her job that she has now.
Yaaaayyyyy!!! I am enjoying the fact that my daughter moved back to Wisconsin. And the fact that she is taking over the farm means she is close enough to help here at the house if I need her and I can stay at the farm if I want to. I try not to be a helicopter mom (or dead weight) But last night I stopped in to drop off some things and her roomies and friend were having their Monday get together and they pulled up a chair for me. And thank goodness they needed EGGS. I worried we would not have enough and now we have waaaaayyyy too many! May your kids always pull up a chair for you!
On this thread in June2021, I said hell no. But now as most know are being forced to find another place. I just wish we could do it in the next few months vs. having to wait until end of year.
Yall can always visit us. Have a camper come on down, like we use to do at this forum. Although we never made it to anyone's place on the site others use to visit each other. Mt son lives in Texas and daughters are busy raising their grand kids so we seldom see them. They are planning a trip here mainly for the beach. I'd like to see the great grands,haven't seen them since pandemic.
I was a moderator on that forum for a few years; it's an excellent resource. Are you familiar with the RV Mutants thread? I know all those folks; they have meet-ups that are a blast.
Maybe but we were so busy reading the sites and seeing places we may want to visit didn't get too involved very long then I sold my bus and went into a state of depression. I saw hubby working under one day and realized how selfish I was and how he could get hurt with all that metal in his back plus the pain it caused him. Only non livinf thing I ever really loved,silly huh? I'd see a Skoolie and just cry.He really did a good job turning it into a camper.
Not silly at all. We bought our motorhome in 2011 and made many trips around the country, usually traveling with my sister and BIL who also had a motorhome. We made lots of good memories and had such fun. We occasionally talk about selling the RV but we're not ready to let it go. I hope we can make some trips this year.
Well, perhaps instead of a move to Cheyenne, Wyoming, possible move to Sheridan, Wyoming. Is definitely "cowboyish/western" enough. I've been in Sheridan and we'd fit in just fine.
