    A silly question please ….

I only started using the internet in a very limited way in late 1999 cause at the time I’d just purchased my very first embroidery sewing machine and needed to connect to the internet to download/ update the sewing machine embroidery programs that we had installed on our “shared” computer.

( I had index cards how to log on ect and what to do once I was logged on)

Our internet at the time was what ever you call the phone line connection? …that made all sorts of noises when connecting.

So when I was brave enough to set up my own email address I set up a gmail account ..long ..long ago

Anyway to get to the point of my question …….:):)

Just recently I’ve attempted to leave a review for a item I purchased and before I can add reviews
it wants me to log onto my google account …..What google account??…… I’ve never had one unless it means my email account ???

Tell me please …………….is a Google account seperate to my Gmail account ? I’ve had my trusty Gmail account so long I didn’t want to mess anything up …. So I thought someone will tell me if I need to set up a google account seperate to my email stuff …I get nervous about messing stuff up ..like my email stuff :):)

    Thanks

I believe your gmail.com account is the same as your Google account. I could be wrong, but mine is the same.

Yes …my hubby shook his head at me quite a few times when I was learning cause he’d been using computers since they came out , I found the index cards I kept in a box designed for them , good ….then I even went and had lessons on how to use the likes of word processing/ publisher / excel …… but I don’t use any of that now days
cause I mainly use my iPad / phone ….but still have my old dinosaur laptop for my sewing machine stuff …it’s stuck on ..,XP operating system due to my sewing machine stuff I can no longer update .

I purchased a Google home recently mainly for music / radio / looking up a recipe I might want to try.
and I managed to set it up by myself even managed to add extra music programs( Spotify )

I love it the sound is great for music and I can even watch Netflix while busy in the kitchen
so I’ve learned lots along the way ..and keep leaning to keep the ole grey matter working.

    lol
I am still mad at the day I called my server about problems I was having. My computer stopped working!!!
They said, We are sorry but your operating system (XP)no longer works with our updates.
Well IIIIII certainly did not change anything to cause that! Why did they?!
I am still waiting to stand, like Captain Kirk, flip open my communicator and say, Computer! Do this!
    And it will.
It hasn't yet with my flip phone though.

My issue is the fact Husqvarna the makers of sewing machines / programmes .,(well they supply the programs with the purchase of a computerised sewing machine ) Husqvarna sold me programmes for the computer that only lasted ONE Year before they released a new machine requiring different machine programmes …..( used in the laptop) and no longer provided any updates to be able to use the programs I bought …… on a computer with a operating system any higher than XP ….it would cost me $1200 to buy upgraded sewing system for a a newer computer ..Nah not worth it ..indont use the machine enough to warrant the cost involved ….
I like my iPad and phone it’s “mobile” can pick it up and take it anywhere with me I’ve had a iPad since the iPad Air was released …prob 10 years ago ( I’ve upgraded since ) hubby has my old iPad Air

:D I have a chrome book now. But they would not let me keep my XP and work with them. They FORCED me into a new operating system like 'energy efficiency', electric cars, built in obsolescence....
I know. I should take this to the 'rant' thread.
