Who really needs to have mac & cheese marketed to them? You either eat it or you don't. And it's not as though the market's saturated with competitors (like the bread aisle is.) There's Kraft, and then there's house brands, which are passable but are not the same...the minimal cost savings is not worth it.

As an aside...I like cheese sauce on broccoli, but I won't make the sauce just for that. But I will cook up a batch of mac & cheese, only use maybe half the pasta, steam some broccoli, cut it up and mix it in with the mac & cheese. It's very good. Obviously, only using half the pasta leaves enough cheese sauce for the broccoli.

But some of them are good and others aren't, particularly if you end up with one of the products that use cheese powder.

I think I've tried a house brand once, and went back to Kraft.

I used to make my own mac & cheese all the time, and freeze it in individual servings. I'd incorporate a cottage cheese that a local grocery store used to carry...it had bits of veggies in it. It was real good. Then I kinda moved on to other stuff.

Once in a while I'll make my own, but it has to be baked in the oven!

We like macaroni and cheese, but rarely ate it until here recently. I prefer to make my own as the boxed stuff' is high in salt . Plus do not really care for the powder cheese sauce. But it is tasty stuff.

I bought a couple of boxes of the Velveeta and Shells for my grocery hoard a couple of years ago. I need to go check expiration dates on that stuff. I don't know which is scarier... Velveeta "processed cheese product" or the powdered stuff, but I suppose either will work if there's nothing else to eat.

The Velveeta product tastes good, but I usually go with Kraft.

With the food shortage I decided to order some groceries through the mail from Target. One of the items I thought would be good to keep in is the mac and cheese from Kraft, usually I order the unicorn type for the grandkids. While searching I noticed a kraft mac and cheese called "thick and creamy" which was new to me so I decided to purchase it. I ordered enough to try some now and save some for the food shortage. I don't know when we'll try it because we just had homemade mac and cheese last night.

This is the one that I usually buy, because, you know, I'm special.

Our refrigerated Kraft cheeses / sliced / blocks / snack size where called Coon cheese .
However it was all changed about 12 months ago to Cheer cheese …Why ….
With our rapidly changing world, Australia’s indigenous complained about the cheese’s name
as many years ago many indigenous people were refereed to as Coons …

so now we have Cheer cheese. I think the cheddar that’s non refrigerated stored on the shelf in supermarkets is still Kraft cheddar wonder how long that will last ;)

I agree Kraft is the best, and and spirals are better than elbows.
