I don't need a she shed anymore. EVERYTHING is mine. Well except for hubby's den. It would be a man cave except it is on the first floore , Right? A man cave is in the basement? I finished the basement to my tastes. The barnhouse renovation was supposed to make it my 'she shed', then a place I could take up residence in exceptionally bad weather so I could take care of the critters when the main farm house was rented by non-family. Once I got stuck in snow drifts in the farm driveway during a blizzard and had no where comfortable to wait for a tow truck. Now it has a little wood stove and fridge and toilet....
Yup, you and me both. Back in the fifties the main farm house burned down and they moved into the three story barn after making part of it into living quarters. Thus barnhouse. There are a few actual barnhouses built in Wisconsin that have historical significance.
We have several barn houses here including one that is a winery. I would love to find acreage with just a small barn and restore it, but that is just irresponsible dreaming.
Ah, but dreams are a wonderful commodity to have. Every time I see an old unoccupied victorian style house or worse, a picture of the Mississippi River, my imagination kicks in and takes me places and allows me to do things that I know will never happen except in my dreams. Maybe that’s enough. Maybe that other places we live and the good things we do in our dreams is just as valid as the place we live in reality.
Man cave is a term we don't like either. I used “home theater” to pitch this idea after our oldest left for good, It’s dated now but still usable.
LOL, If I had a craft room, that would be it! My car kinda looks like that lately. 50lbs scratch grains, bag of cat food, 25lb block of salt, potting soil, garden kneeler and various tools...It has become my store room. I don't know where to put everything where chipmunks won't get it.
