Axios has announced that a Trump--DeSantis ticket has already been determined for 2024. I don't know if that is true or not, it it is the one thing that Republicans strategists have dreaded if it were announced before the midterms. This is a Liberal website, not and Trump announcement, so it may not be true but a way to marshal Dems behind whatever candidate they come up with.
I really hope that this comes to be. If the dem candidate couldn't get things together to defeat such a thing, then the US would deserve the total collapse that would result. Sometimes being an octogenarian can be a good thing. I would anticipate living long enough to say, "I told you so!" and then look forward to the grim reaper.
I think I would like a Desantis-Trump ticket instead. Trump could still do the fixing and Desantis could be the cooler head prevailing. But not too cool.
Thus far, I can't think of anyone, other than Trump, who would prompt me to bother voting in the 2020 election, given that our elections are about as valid as those that were held in the former Soviet Union. Maybe Kristi Noem, although I don't know a whole lot about her, largely because I have had no reason to. I'm thinking I'd prefer her to DeSantis, but North Dakota doesn't have the numbers or the strategic advantage to turn an election as Florida would.
As for a Trump/DeSantis ticket, I am not buying it. The article would appear to be a trial balloon of some sort or a response fishing expedition..
Agree. I wish Trump would catch a bus to the retirement home and get lost. I would vote for DeSantis for President, though.
I voted for Trump in '16 and '20, and if he ends up on the ticket I will vote for him again, but he is not my first choice. Or second. Or third. The only Dem I would consider voting for is Tulsi Gabbard. I voted for her as my Representative when I was living in Hawaii, and if the Dems put her at the top of the ticket, they have my vote
Both Noem and DeSantis are known for their reasonable actions during Dr. Fauci's pandemic, but DeSantis was later to the game. While Trump was letting Fauci run the country and Florida was arresting people for not wearing masks on the beach, it was business as usual in North Dakota, indicating independent thinking on the part of North Dakota's governor. I understand that Noem is running gubernatorial reelection campaign ads not only in North Dakota, but in key states that would be necessary for a Republican primary campaign, getting her name out there without declaring. I don't know enough about either of them to know whether I'd vote for them, however.
The governors were not under the relentless pressure that Trump was. Nothing the man did was not criticized, unlike what is happening now where nothing the president does is criticized as he leads the nation to ruin. I guess he doesn't know if he has cancer or Covid; I think he is waiting for his staff to let him know which he has.
He's waiting for the experts to weigh in. He was first diagnosed with cancer, so he asked for a second opinion, which was Covid.
Well, if it's true, what a powerhouse ... and especially where our country is now and what it's been thru.
I'm a bigger fan of DeSantis every day. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...View-blaming-personal-attacks-woke-hosts.html "Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has turned down an offer to appear on The View. Thanks but NO thanks: DeSantis passes on offer to appear on The View and responds with scathing email listing litany of personal attacks from woke hosts who called him racist, homophobic and anti-transgender." Good job, Mr. DeSantis.
