I'm hearing recently of the "failed" pharma drugs being produced for ALzheimers/Dementia and the words
Amyloid ....... are mentioned in these drugs.....I don't try to memorize the names of the drugs....so can't
    offer anything there.

As I've said I'm taking Grape Seed Ex for 26 yrs and feel stronger and stronger that I'm saving my mind.

    https://www.sciencedaily.com/releas...:~:text=Summary:,amyloid beta plaque build up.

    https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19384583/

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3666959/

And I continue to believe strongly that the Pharma Drug route needs to be the Alternative Route and more natural food type medicines need to be worked with first of all. If all has failed in trying to do some true healing, then hit the lab drugs and see what goes and how many side effects.....

It's a joke, @Joy Martin. People do that sometimes. That was precisely the type of plaque that I was referring to as being a good thing.

It is not a drink. It is compounds extracted from ground up red wine grape seeds that are put into capsules. Remember how there was a "thing" at one time that the compounds in red wine were good for your heart? This is derived from that, and from the long history grape products (seeds/sap/leaves/fruit) have had in medicinal use. The beneficial compounds in this instance are extracted from the seeds.

Sorry if this is a repeat of what may have already been stated in this thread. I'm too lazy to go look.

    That's the #1 definition.

    plaque
    [plak]
    NOUN
    1. an ornamental tablet, typically of metal, porcelain, or wood, that is fixed to a wall or other surface in commemoration of a person or event.
      synonyms:
      memorial tablet · plate · stone plate · metal plate · tablet · panel · sign · brass · medallion · plaquette · cartouche
    2. a sticky deposit on teeth in which bacteria proliferate:
"plaque around gum margins can lead to gingivitis"
    3. medicine
a small, distinct, typically raised patch or region resulting from local damage or deposition of material, such as a fatty deposit on an artery wall in atherosclerosis or a site of localized damage of brain tissue in Alzheimer's disease.

I don't buy my supplements from Walmart and Amazon carries many high quality supplements but offer some low cost quality and I believe the less they cost the more
they are produced in china, not my favorite place.

A high quality Grape Seed Extract needs to contain 90% polyphenols per cap. My best dose is 200mg daily with 90% polyphenols and now I'm using Now Foods 250mg capsule.

The more weight one carries, the higher dose is necessary but what one can spend is up to them.

Now if one takes a pharma blood thinner, can't take both. Grape Seed Ex keeps the blood thin.

I gotta think that a Puritan's Pride or a NOW product is gonna be the same no matter where I buy it. Honestly, I doubt that either Walmart or Amazon have any way of vetting the quality of their supplement brands and sellers (if they even care to in the first place.) And reading consumers' Product Reviews of things like this is a valueless exercise...none of us have a lab.

When I added Ceylon cinnamon to my daily regime and began my product research, I saw product reviews on Amazon that said the seller was substituting regular cinnamon...Ceylon cinnamon can cost 7x-8x as much as a house brand generic cinnamon, but there are health concerns when taking cinnamon on a routine basis that justify the higher price. These "Ceylon" cinnamons were rated High in the aggregate, but the negative "not the real thing" reviews were convincing enough for me to steer clear and buy a well-known national brand (Simply Organics) from my local Food Lion.

I don't mistrust Walmart any more than I mistrust Amazon (they are resellers, not manufacturers), and I trust neither implicitly.

Think what you choose, I've been using it so long that I know what brands I feel good about. When I first started out in 1995, I was hooked in with Swansons and bought their brand for some time, I was fine with it and along the way Swansons and I had a falling out about something else.

I don't buy Puritan Pride and I know they have 2 for 1 specials or they did, but I have a
history and follow my gut. And there are Honest Reviews on the net, I've posted many over the years.

To be leary of product produced in china, I have that engrained in my mind.

Some brands add "Made in >> " on their label.

You and I don't disagree. We were talking Walmart vs Amazon and the sellers they share in common, not specific brands. So what should my concern be with Puritan's Pride? I'm not particularly brand loyal, but they have a good rep (which could just be the result of successful marketing.) I use their CoQ10, their chelated copper and their grapeseed extract.
