OMG. I'll bet that was a mess. One of our friends had their refrigerator doors swing open when making a turn. It took her weeks to find all the condiments spills and pieces of glass. Another exciting thing is to decide to go potty while rolling down the highway. It's definitely an experience to pee at 65 MPH.
Oh...you just would have to know this wonderful person...he somehow missed all those signs before the red-light...bridge construction...at least we didn't go over that!
Many journeys after that...two more rv's...i never once got up...looked up map info...camping info...not one thing...get parked ....if you need anything...park!..ha!
oh...yeah...the mess...i forgot about that...I don't remember that part...i was probably #@!###!!..ha!
oh yeah...thank goodness the little dogs had to go about every hour and a half...that had to be planned in the map he made for rest areas...or other...i stayed in that extra driver's seat!
I'm not good at sitting for hours, so I often get up and move around while we're underway. Sometimes I lay on the sofa or make coffee or whatever, just to get up and stretch.
we had to make the "no more than 4-5 hrs on the road "...rule....my husband wants to get on...up or down the road....nada chance...enough already!
I agree; usually 6 hours is more than enough. We always try to get to the day's destination by 3 p.m., especially when the days are shorter. No fun to be in an unfamiliar campground in the dark. We do make stops for fuel and frequent rest area stops. My husband is a smoker and he won't smoke inside, so we have to stop every couple of hours so he can walk around outside and smoke.
