When we had lockdowns our ballroom dancing was one of the first things to be closed
because it comes under a sports and recreation , when choosing what should be closed and what should be allowed to open with restrictions like distancing / masks so yes I’d suppose you could say I participate in sports and recreation

I know you missed that dancing I know I would but we haven't been dancing in years. I dance around here to keep diabetes in check and I like music and dance, sometimes hubby will join me,not often. He hasn't liked to dance since he broke his back and they put all kinds of metal in it the going backwards is hard on his back sometimes reaching too. He doesn't take anything for it new thank God. Pain pills ended up putting him in withdrawals became more painful than the back or made it worse anyway. Going through withdrawals plus pain is no fun.

I was just doing a little cha cha this morning. Mostly though I wouldn't call what I do dancing now, just moving and acting up.

    Good morning to all-
For outside activity, we paddle kayaks, go fishing quite often in a lot of different places, and we garden and do yardwork- sometimes pretty heavy stuff like tree cutting and log hauling. We grow veggies of many kinds, blueberries and satsumas- a kind of mandarin orange on our trees, I fly my drone al least once every day- get to see what's going on in the world, I do. And I have a moderate archery range set up behind the house- I'm getting better- not good for sure, but better at putting the arrow where I want it to go.
Nothing to do for fun? Not here at our house.

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

Good yall are still able to do all that. My last big adventure was building a hügelkultur mound. We had cut down some rather large trees and so I loaded up the cut logs onto a hand truck and put them in the 3' hole I had dug with a shovel. Then hauled a couple 100 wheelbarrows across the field to the mound, daughter did help me with last 15 loads of dirt. Now it looks more like a weed patch than veggie mound.
Otherwise it just building trails and clearing endless vines, but chigger's put brakes on that plus age.
    We don't have a tractor.

In answer to the opening post, no as to sport other than bocce ball and yes to walking as an activity. I would still play pickleball, but no one does it around here anymore. The lady that had a court moved and the court was turned into a basketball court. No one does badminton anymore which is a shame since I have a couple of pro rackets. I noticed that one of our beach volleyball courts hasn't been used or maintained this summer. Probably a good thing because I might not have the good sense to refrain from getting in a game and tearing up slow-to-heal muscles. I also might embarrass myself by donning a fabric-shy sports bikini to attempt to blend in with the young fit babes in proper game costume.

I have posted a sign on my refrigerator side that says, "Just say no Faye." I need to be reminded several times a day that the saying, "you are as young as you feel," is 50/50 truth. The truth is on a good day when I feel young and get involved in activities like I am 30, afterward, I hurt like I am 90 (or I imagine one such as myself might hurt at 90), I realize that the saying is a two-prong truth. Accepting that truth as a one-horned unicorn truth is dangerous and it is best accepted as a two-horned mountain goat truth.

I think I will print this up and tape it on my refrigerator.

You reminded me. I had actually been thinking of contacting the people who are 'renting' my last horse if they still want to or want to send him back. Best just let things be.:(

Oooh, I loved softball. We had softball teams at the company I retired from, and we had a blast heading for the ball fields after work.

We didn't play football; I suppose they could only let "girls" participate in non-contact stuff. I had plenty of skinned knees and bruises (and once a black eye) from softball, though. I played shortstop. Fun times!

Interesting, it was a different era when females were treated differently and no one screamed sexism? Some of us liked it. Some of us didn't. But after burning our bras, we get to be drafted.o_O

Actually when we played football it was mostly men though there was one "girl" that participated.
During my younger days I played a lot of baseball, which gave me the opportunity to play a lot of positions. I like third base the best, however I played shortstop, second base, Outfield, even pitched on occasion.

I never gave it much thought; this was back in the late 80's and 90's. There were plenty of corporate sponsored activities... tennis, golf, etc. I just liked softball. When our kids got to junior high and high school, I didn't have time to do much since they were involved in sports, drill team, etc. and I was a crazy spectator mom. :D

The games we played will not corporate sponsored, individuals from the companies set up the games, eventually it became a small League.

I played lots of Hardball I was in many leagues, I was playing over 100 games a year when I was 15, one of my coaches told my father that I had some Scouts monitoring me. I gave up playing Baseball at 17, wish I hadn't but that's another story.
