Organized? Really!? I, yes I, am probably the most organized person I have ever met.....in my most humble opinion. I am sooooo well organized but so humble that I can't help but give some credit to those who helped me with my unbelievable life of parallel living and linear thinking.

When I was younger I knew that I was lacking in something so I joined the Army. A top notch agency built just to make sure that lads such as myself knew the true meaning of the topic in question. Why, when I first joined they even paid me a whole $63.81 a month to be neat, tidy, clean, and instead of teaching me how to just simply shoot at people, they taught me how to "accurately" shoot at people! Such lessons cannot be had unless one is willing to be organized by someone with your best interests at heart.

Then, after I got out of the Army I not only got married but joined the American Legion. Two organizations with some conflicting views but organized nonetheless. The problem with each though is I had to pay them so I could be organized as well as they and one of them had to be paid again, as well as an organized legal institution to leave the consortium. The American Legion changed a bit and I decided to leave that also but I just had to quit paying my yearly fee in order to quit.

Since all of those examples, I have been through college, a seminary, several jobs, another marriage, the Moose club, the Eagles club, just to mention a few more active learning opportunities bent on providing me the best of lessons in the fine art of organization.
Just a note: After learning as much as I could I left each and every one of these and finally struck out on my own organizing everything I could touch until I eventually re-married to a non-organizing lady whom I love and eventually retired to a life of unforced self discipline, which "some" might say is haphazard at best but to me a bit of heaven.

Thus, if guilt by association is a valid point, just by sheer elbow rubbing with all of the organizations I have listed above I am now, by my own standards, the epitome of the afore mentioned topical lead.

So organized that I am the only one in the world who can tell heads or tails from anything I have in my shop, much less find anything one might be looking for unless guided by this personage.

@Bobby Cole. Okay, so are organized or not, I can't really tell.:D First I'm lead to believe that you are and then there is a 180 degree turn that I missed somewhere:confused:.

See how organized I am!!? So well that even you are aghast! I have indeed mastered the art of disoriented marshallality so well that my style of parallel living befuddles even the best of minds such as yourself. :)

Organized ya, right. I used to be very organized and everything had it's place. That was before I moved into my mother's (now my) house. This house is so cluttered I don't know where to begin. I will say in my defense I know where the important stuff is and my kitchen is orderly. I am attempting to clean out the other rooms and still finding important papers mixed with junk. But back to the subject my office is stacked with papers and my computer desk is where all my ideas for writing notes are piled. I am hoping to get things in order this summer. By the way this is a great question for the forum, @Diane Lane.

@Sandy Wood It's difficult to function, let alone be organized, in someone else's house, amongst their belongings. I also used to be much more organized, but this house is separated into way too many small rooms and tiny closets here and there, but it's difficult to stay organized, which is one reason I focus on the kitchen. At least that's manageable ;). Thanks re: great question, I'm glad some found it useful, and hopefully some of the tips here will encourage others (including myself) along the path to organization. I know my mother was very unhappy with how much she was left to do after my dad died, and that tends to stick in my mind, so I go through my things periodically and donate/discard/organize, but there's still work to be done.

I am well organized in my day to day living, all my banking and utility accounts etc., are online and I have a more or less paperless life in those areas. I organize all my travel/vacations/holidays for about 12 months ahead. I have a computer diary and accounts so everything is well ordered.............but in the material world I live in a state of chaos for some reason. :(
