C'mon Now! Viral Video Shows Group of White Students Singing the N-Word On DC Metro (msn.com) The "N" word was in a song by a Black singer and these, mostly students, from a private school, are being told they should've skipped over that word. Any thoughts?
This was a Headline on the Internet today, that's all. But, do we have to censor singing a song because it has a word in it that is offensive to Blacks, but they can use the word and Whites can't? Same as the initials of the gay community: GLBTQ+............straight people can't use the word "queer", but they can.
Nothing was mentioned in the story, just about mostly white students, from a private school, singing a rap song with the "n" word in it. They are all be criticized for using the word that in the song.
Cody, I'm not into rodeos or western wear but I, for one, appreciate when you post something of interest here. It's a shame that your thread got hijacked. I can't understand why it's OK for rappers to say the N word but not OK for white boys to sing his song with all the words. Leaving out words can change the whole thing. Like... I know you guys are just doing a little teasing but Cody isn’t saying anything that ya’ll including myself hasn’t questioned a few times throughout the years. Frankly, I’m a little tired of being told “it’s a cultural thing”. Not that I would even like a song with the N Bomb in it or a lot of the cursing and sex involved either but if I did, then my first amendment rights give me the privilege to sing any derned thing I want. Sue me.
More diversionary garbage fabricated to turn us against each other. None of the black people I know would ever speak that way. None of the white people I know would ever speak that way. Nor do any of us want to. This is the same as all those pasty suburban jerks telling us how offensive the Redskins name is.
