The Ninja is a good machine. Mine is several years old and it still works and it makes good coffee. I decided I wanted a percolator, so I usually use that now. I still have my Ninja hooked up, but I use it mostly for tea, although it's perfectly capable of making good coffee.

I've done that when the power has gone out, which led me to discover that restaurant coffee is so good because commercial machines get water to 190° or so. Your typical Mr. Coffee only heats to about 165°.

Your way of making coffee yields better results than 95% of the consumer machines out there.

Yes and you can control how woke you want to be too, as in being awake of course. I like my coffee hot.

Next time you make coffee, pour just enough hot water to wet the grounds, then let it it for 30 seconds (you can stir them around if you like.) Then pour the rest of the water through them. See if you notice a difference.

No, I haven't tried that. I'm thinking it wouldn't have enough time to steep or that it would require a lot of loose tea. No, I just use it for the hot water. I do use loose tea sometimes, but I confine it in a bell.

The Ninja (or at least my Ninja) does the presoak when used to make coffee.

I like regular black coffee, I've been drinking it for a long time now. The kids wanted to buy me an automatic coffee machine, but I like using this French press because I am involved in the coffee making process. I've tried coffee from an automatic coffee machine a couple of times, but I'm more used to making my own coffee. Anyway, I should definitely drink less...

Our keurig that we use for when we just want one quick cup of coffee seems to be on its last legs. It gives us less and less coffee for the same size cup selection. The 12 oz size used to almost fill up my cup; but now, it is only giving me about a little over a half cup. Bobby has a 20 oz mug, so he always has to press fill twice to get his mug full, but now he has to use the larger sizes twice also.

We tried cleaning it, but that didn’t seem to make a difference; so we decided it was time for a new coffee pot. This one will do the k-cups, a refillable k-cup, or make a 12 cup pot of coffee, and it does not take up a lot of room on the counter; so this is what we ordered from Amazon.

When I visited our son in Missouri, we stayed for a few days at his father-in-laws condo in Branson. They had a coffeemaker that would do either a Keurig or a full pot, or perhaps both at the same time. We may get one of those should we have to replace our coffeemaker. I am not hot on Keurig stuff, but my wife would use it if we had it. My brother used a full pot in the morning and a Keurig in the evening, as he would drink decaf and his wife would drink cocoa.

I bought a new Keurig Elite brewer during the Black Friday Amazon sale. It touts the "hot water dispensing" feature ... which was always available on any Keurig if you simply pushed "brew" without a k-cup in the holder.

Bobby makes a 12 cup pot in the morning as soon as he gets his eyes open enough to find the coffee pot. When I get up, I make myself a cup of coffee in the keurig because it is fast and easy.
Now, I am working on just drinking herbal coffee after my morning cup, since it is better for both my liver and my kidney failure. I can use the Teeccino in a coffee maker, and the Chicoraya (chicory) is instant, so I just heat up water for that one.
This coffee maker should do everything, and if I want a small pot, I can do that instead of the one-cup method.

Yvonne what kind of herb will give us energy like coffee? I'm trying to salvage my lower legs by walking, but it still seems to progress more anyway. Coffee helps me get going.

I am not drinking the herb coffee for energy, and I do not drink energy drinks, @Marie Mallery .
Because of my heart failure, it affects my liver and kidneys, and so I am limiting my coffee to just a cup in the morning, and will maybe even stop drinking that one cup.
If I need more morning energy, then I will start making the Bulletproof Coffee again, because that gives me loads of energy, and works fast. I have been thinking about doing that again anyway; just because it stops me from being hungry for a long time, and it really clears my memory because it can pass the blood-brain barrier and help me think better.

If coffee is helping you, and you need it and are not concerned that it can affect your health, then there is no reason not to have the coffee when you want it, it just does not work for me.
I think that there are herbs that can help energy, but I do not know anything about that.
