My husband went out to run errands today and he stopped at the local voting location to vote. Kind of ticked me off because we usually go together, but he said he was just driving by and noticed that there weren't many cars there so he stopped. There were only 2 other voters in the building.

He said that there's a new process where you vote electronically and then are given a PRINT OUT of your ballot. Wow, does that sound cost-effective. I should have gone up there and voted, too, but it was raining and I'm whiney so I didn't. Maybe tomorrow.

I voted last week since we have mail-in ballots. They now have an online site that can be checked to see if it was received. What they don't show is if it was counted or discarded due to the signature checkers. Finally, Oregon has a good experienced Republican candidate that by the talk I am hearing should win since the Democrat and Independent ones are worse than the delusional Kate Brown. We all hope to see the 40 years of Democrat rule that is kept in power by just a fragment of Oregon by square miles and a small sampling of Oregon's necessary workforce, come to an end.

Hooray! I've officially voted. The new system was a real PITA; I'm glad I went early because Election Day is going to be a nightmare. First, the ballot is 2 pages long; just the judges took forever. People seemed to be having trouble with the "new and improved" system; reading comprehension is a lost art. I told the monitors that they should reinstate the "straight party" button because it certainly saved a LOT of time. Anyway, the mid-terms are a done deal. [IMG]

Voting here in Alabama is only on the Election Day, so we will not be voting until on Tuesday. I have been doing lots of surveys about voting, so I think that they are trying to gather all the information they can about how it might go.

Yep, a last-minute effort to see how many votes they may need to steal.

The problem is with judges, they never give what party they favor. One has to take time to read up on them all and then decide. We were lucky in Oregon that the republican party had a website that showed what judges had made rulings that favored law and order and harsh sentences.

We get a brochure here that breaks it all down on measures since it is confusing on the ballot if a yes means no or vice versa. All the Democrat-sponsored measures are full of tricky wording.

Waiting until Tuesday. Considered voting early as we never know if we can get back to Alaska once we leave, but we made it just fine although every single flight was delayed, one by 5 hours. We haven't experienced that in decades.

I recently learned that judges on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court are elected positions, and they "may" run on party tickets; that is, they can declare themselves to be (D)s or (R)s. Right now there are 4 (D)s on the bench, 2 (R)s, and one vacancy.

I voted on the first day of early voting. If I should die before Nov. 8, I wanted to be damn sure my vote got counted! :D

In Texas, the party affiliation is listed on the ballot. There has been a lot of "discussion" about reforming the process for electing judges in Texas. As stated by Gov. Abbott...

It really takes the pressure off. Hopefully, non-targets won't be offended.
