Mary being a 61 year smoker I doubt it,:(.I will be inside once the cold air hits it makes it harder to breath. Cigarette's are the devils addiction for some of us but guess always being so active is the only thing that keeps me going, if I slow down it makes it hard to crank back up.

Walked the property with my wife yesterday and visited our big greenhouse while it sleeps. only about 4 inches of snow on this side, but 8 inches or so over there, so the walking is tougher but not impossible. It was sunny and around 25 F., so the walk was quite pleasant.

Started off vacuuming the wood floors ,moving furniture to do so and get ready to mop.

After that my walk was shorter than usual. Still walked over half way.

We decided to walk down to and along the beach to the “secret garden”( a tiny seaside but semi hidden public garden) and home on Saturday , ( 3 Km walk)
The sun was shining…. but looking south the sky was threatening we decided we risk it cause the dark clouds were way way off …..Well we only got about 1 Km from home and with no where to shelter the rain poured and poured , so we turned back towards home …….walking in-the huge raindrops / thunder , when we got back to the steps to walk up from beach level to the carpark at ground level the steps were like a waterfall …..we was both so drenched by the time we walked another 1/2 Km home .. we didn’t have any choice but to walk up the steps cause we don’t have a choice it’s the only way to get back up to the carpark….to walk home from there

I had my best Ecco shoes on ( $266 shoes ) I’ve mentioned before I need stable shoes since fracturing my leg ankle
they ended full of water from the rain / stairs

Nice photo and what a deluge. II hope your ECCO shoes are the kind that can be washed and dried. I just ordered new walking shoes and I was amazed that the ones I want are $200.

I understand that feeling. Stuff newspaper in them for a bit after taking out the insoles. Feet are important at our age. Water is too, but mostly on the inside;)

Faye I ordered some but didn't get the ones I ordered and was too sick at the time to return them, but I like Sketchers, or I think that is the name.

We managed to get my shoes to dry out ….. nicely by taking the innersoles out , then hubby treated them with a good shoe treatment for leather to stop the shoes drying out and cracking
They don’t look any worse for getting soaked

Oh and by the time we got back to the bottom of the steps we had to walk through 6 inches of water ( combination of the seawater and rain) before stepping up the “ waterfall”steps

I use the Outdoor Sketchers and they do okay for me, and I have a pretty rugged lifestyle. When I do really tough stuff like logging and such, I use boots designed for that.
