An enormous explosion has hit one of Russia's major gas pipelines, sending flames and smoke billowing into the sky above and prompting fears it was a retribution attack for Vladimir Putin's continued invasion of Ukraine. The fireball was visible for miles in every direction after hitting about 14 miles east of St Petersburg, the nation's second largest city and Putin's hometown. Link
It is not hard to read what the communist say, all you do is apply the reverse truth and you know what they're up to. Why would anyone in this world believe what Putin would say, and especially the Chinese murderer responsible for hundreds of thousands and deaths. The virus was deliberately leaked on the entire world simply because he wanted to destroy everyone's economy after being forced to pay for things by President Trump. Communist aren't normal humans and you would do well to never ever trust one. The worst offense by the US was to allow either of the two Nations to have nuclear weapons. Now we have the Iranians soon to have the same and North Korea. If you think it's bad now wait until those two rogues have nukes, they don't have to fire one, they will simply give one to some bad actors and just sit back and smile while we get destroyed, they know they can't win so that would be most probably what the two would try. If there is ever any nuclear attack against America they are the first two to be destroyed. As Barney said Nip it in the Bud. The world is what it is and has never fully recovered after WWII with most people falsely assuming it had. Too many bad actors were left in power and it just snow balled.
And yet, the only country to actually use such a weapon against another country was the United States.
Not to be contrary but thank heavens the United States was the only country who had them at the time.
Germany would have beaten us to the punch, but the Jews they were persecuting and executing helped us beat them to it. The Germans made an error calculating critical mass.
At the time, yes, but that didn't mean we had to use the weapon, and there have been many other times since then, yet none of these other countries that we like to portray as the bad guys have, thus far, resorted to these measures.
As has been done before thousands of times, we could debate both points until the cows come home and ultimately find that in the end that each of us has a reasonable opinion. I would like to imagine a world without nuclear weapons and do hope that at some point the powers that be can see that we can do without them and still maintain a balance of power. Now, if perchance my interpretation of Revelation is correct, that could well happen and very soon.
The West is certainly trying to push him to use at least tactical nuclear weapons so they can point to him and scream what an awful person he is (more than they do already) and use it to justify the full-scale intervention by NATO. As far as eliminating nuclear weapons, we are currently at a disadvantage against China, for the U.S. and Russia have signed WMD treaties, but as far as I know, China and North Korea have not done so. As a result, we know something about what weapons Russia has (which are formidable) but we know essentially nothing about what China and North Korea have, or where they have spread the technology.
I think we bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki because the war was about to come to an end, and we wanted to test our new bombs out on real cities, which is why two different types of bombs were used. The Soviet Union has exercised a large degree of deference to the devastating effects of a nuclear war, yet our media and politicians continuously refer to them as the nuclear threat. I'd worry more about North Korea, China, and Pakistan.
Ken, you must have read different history of WWII than I did. The war was still raging on all fronts and many, many more of our boys would have died if it hadn't ended. President Truman was one of those awful Democrats but I have the greatest respect for him. I don't think he would have killed thousands of people if he hadn't thought it was absolutely necessary.
Pakistan is a merchant of WMDs but I don't think they are a direct threat to anyone but India. I guess I think a bit more of Truman than you. I think he bombed the cities to save net lives on both sides. The atomic bombs killed fewer people than did the fire-bombing of Tokyo.
Kennedy and others didn't agree with the reason. But then I sure don't know anything except what they tell us. Shiely have you ever seen the movie 'Tora,Tora,Tora? I read there are lots of facts [if there is such a thing] in that movie about how we were warned and seems it was misplaced and ignored. I forgot lots of it, but still a good movie about that war.
