Remember when Dutch farmers protested this summer following a government plan to reduce nitrogen emissions by 50% by 2030? Well, the government will conduct a “compulsory purchase” of large nitrogen emitters as part of a voluntary, one-time offer. This was announced by Nitrogen Minister Christianne van der Wal. This involves closing down up to 3,000 farms in compliance with EU environmental rules.

I created a topic here about the USDA creating a program in 2009 called "The Peoples Garden" where they ask people to register their gardens “to increase access and consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables in urban and rural areas.” Sure thing.

John they are also going after the ranchers.

In response to the decision, Executive Director of Consumers’ Research Will Hild told the Daily Caller “The Netherland’s war on farmers to pursue their ESG agenda serves as a stark warning. Americans should be vigilant against efforts by both governments and big Wall Street firms like BlackRock pushing these same dangerous “net zero” carbon emissions targets here in the US. It is difficult to overstate the recklessness of undermining farmers during the greatest global food crisis in decades. This will likely exacerbate the food price inflation we are already experiencing.”

I would say that is a great way to find yourself on a waiting list for a body cast. Of course here in the US we have had some real losers in charge as far back as time goes. In the late 40s after the close of WWII there was a large statewide out break of hoof and mouth disease here in La. The FED and local government destroyed just about every animal in La. They did not compensate the owners one penny. My Aunt and Uncle had a 50 acre spread with cows and they lost all of them. From that time on they never owned another animal and used the land to raise and sell Hay. 50 years ago La had 500 Dairy Farms, today there is probably around 7 if that many. Nevada NYE county has several huge Dairy Farms because they have their own fields to grow the needed food for the cows, and all the water they want due to living on the largest underground water source in Nevada. Las Vegas has been just gnawing their teeth wanting to move their boundaries a whopping 65 miles so they can steal the water. The Dairy owners are mostly all from California due to the grand theft taking place by the liberal government there.

Yet we're supposed to believe that a worldwide food shortage is not the direct result of governments working against the people they are supposed to serve.

I think this is a wise decision, since at this stage in the game, there is absolutely nothing, we can do about it.

The default sites that automatically come up when I open my browser include American Thinker, The Daily Caller (where I came across this subject) , Town Hall, and Reason. I scan those for current issues and learn what I can from the comments.

I also skim the topics in another forum that has tens of thousands of members, with no fewer than 5,000 online at any given moment. I often say the same thing you just did, Hedi..."Man, you folks are on top of it!" and I derive the benefit of all those eyes on a bunch of different sources bringing news items to that central location. Of course, with all those members, you not only get a higher volume of different intelligent insights, you also gotta sift through a higher volume of stupidity. But if nothing else, I can go search for more data on those subjects I might never have otherwise encountered.

The challenge is in knowing what to believe.

You could do a bit of research on Trudeau and how he shut down the bank accounts of protesters in Canada. Truckers were protesting, the police asked them to move away from the city. Before they finished, Trudeau enacted the Emergency Powers act, instead of waiting. And their money was confiscated from Go Fund Me accounts.
    This is CANADA!
We did it to Russia and other countries. Our government can do this and anything to us too. And they are already setting up digital cash so no more cash money for out mattresses.
High taxes till we can't afford our property? We will be happy and have nothing.

Trudeau was pressured by the US government to crack down on the trucker protests in Canada.

Long term plans are to take everything away from us. I don't know how long that will take to implement. I never imagined we could fall so low in such a short time. If Russia collapses, things will accelerate; if Russia wins in Ukraine, the pace of decline may slow. In any case, there will be one or more wars or pandemics to enable the implentation of bad things or to cover for them.
