Ya see hoot….another opinion which is wrong. I AM NOT a military expert albeit I am a combat vet. @Thomas Stillhere spent more time in combat and has more working knowledge of all things military that I will ever have. That said, I do thank you for the compliment and yes, it is a FACT that he was a highly trained Marine as are all Marines and as a Marine he was one of America’s Finest. What happened later in his career doesn’t take away from what he faced in Iraq.
Thanks again for giving us your OPINION. BTW, the point of my post #47 was that Griner has not broken any US laws, and is as deserving as you or I to be a part of the prisoner swap. Your "hero" broke laws and was booted out of the Marines accordingly, even though you can try to shrug it off. Ludicrous? lol - another opinion from you. PS - Army just beat Navy in double OT 20-17.
Griner wasn't imprisoned in the United States. She (or he) was imprisoned for violating a Russian law that s/he should have been aware of, and (in my opinion) should have been left to serve the time.
I'm not a fan of these prisoner swaps regardless of who are the "swapees". Clearly, Putin, et al, played Biden like a radio.
I remember another Marine named Oswald, it was pretty much proved he was an agent working in Naval Intelligence. He had ties to high places and it would indicate he was sacrificed by certain scumbags in our government. It brings up the question, could this Marine in Russia also be an agent for the US government and there is no chance he would be released. It always smells a bit nasty when we see these ex servicemen called traitors. Prove it . Personally I never believed that Oswald was the shooter who assassinated JFK. The most remarkable thing that happened that afternoon was when Oswald was credited with killing the Dallas Police officer. I never believed he killed the guy, and I believe the same people who killed JFK were attempting to kill Oswald also but just happened to run into this police officer. There is a reason Oswald was killed and it wasn't because some mob person like Ruby wanted to kill him, he had a few favors to repay. He knew he was dying of cancer and had nothing to lose by killing Oswald. Decades later I read an article written about an interview with a dying Frenchman in Prison. He claims that he knew who killed JFK and stated that it was four shooters. The popular shot from the grassy knoll was stated by him that was from under the freeway overpass on the other side or in other words a straight shot, and last chance to kill JFK. This Frenchman had received his information from another person in Prison who was involved. He stated the assassins arrived in country a week before the killing and after JFK was killed remained in Dallas another two weeks until things cooled down and foreigners could move about. I doubt the 4 would have all used the same motels or hotel. True or not it does closely follow that mornings happenings, especially the conflicting accounts from people on the ground at the scene saying they heard the shot come from the direction of the freeway. The Knoll is very close to the street and would have been extremely hard for a person to hide holding a rifle. There was one worker at the book repository which said he and Oswald were both in the lunch room the same time this shooting took place. It was when Oswald heard the shooting occurred it was then he knew he had been set up. I still believe he was trying to get home and hide. Not from the Dallas Police Department but from the assassins . Deep down I do believe it was our own elected who was deep in the middle and also J Edgar Hoover. Hover was being targeted by Bobby Kennedy but he had so much dirt on the Kennedy's whole family they knew firing Hoover would probably bring all of them down. There are a ton of facts written on the killing of JFK. I believe today our government is so corrupt we will never know because they have kept the warren report locked down and only released a part of it, that is a fact because their excuse was there were still people living that it would effect. Yeah now let me guess who those people were. I'll just say one had two semi beautiful daughters.
Speaking of prisoners, the deep state is trying to make an example of Julian Assange. Did you know he started Wikileaks? He is being held in Belmarsh Prison, Britain's harshest, since 2019. They're really afraid of Truth. He became popular because all the media suddenly went political and stopped serving news. I find it amazing that people in this deep state club are still walking free and attacking political enemies. I doubt seriously we'll see any change when the new congress begins. I haven't read what the end result is going to be but the woman democrat that went to the independents has changed the narrow margin in the senate. It is going to be interesting for sure.
First @Thomas Stillhere. Please please after you type out your post, go back and divide them into paragraphs. It will only take a few seconds and it will make it possible for some of us to read. I haven't been able to read your long posts for several weeks due to my eye problem. I can now since I have my magical prism lens, but still keeping my place is almost impossible. You make so many great points and I for one value your take on issues. I also honor that you served in combat in a hostile place just to return home and be mostly unappreciated. I think many here will read and respond to your post when you take the time to divide them up into much smaller paragraphs. I am taking the liberty to repost your post but with paragraphs so it will be read and appreciated. You make a very important parallel that is relevant to this conversation. I was set to make a similar post exploring the idea that the imprisoned marine is a government agent and his misconduct discharge in 2008 was a setup so he would look less patriotic and be able to work as a spy. Was he really a thief? We don't know that for a fact. I still stand by my opinion that no Russia-imprisoned USA citizen was worth trading for this Demon of Death. In my opinion, the arms dealer should have been executed. I believe that Griner did, in fact, commit a crime against the USA by being an athletic representative for the USA but refusing to pledge allegiance to the USA. I also think her having drugs on her in Russia was a setup and a crime against the USA. It doesn't bother me that she is black. It doesn't bother me that she is a lesbian. It doesn't bother me that she uses drugs. It doesn't bother me that she tried to smuggle drugs into Russia, knowing what the penalty would be. What really, really bothers me is that they set free one of the most dangerous men on Earth in return for her. A man who is responsible for untold thousands of deaths, some of whom were Americans. A man who said that he knew that some of the guns he sold would be used to kill Americans. By what kind of reasoning can they think she is worth that? "Viktor Bout, in my eyes, is one of the most dangerous men on the face of the Earth," Michael Braun, the former chief of operations for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, told "60 Minutes" in 2010. Victor Bout is also known as ‘Merchant of Death’. During a March 2008 meeting in a Bangkok hotel conference room, Bout told the DEA informants posing as FARC officials that he could airdrop the arms in Colombia and acknowledged that the weapons could be used to kill Americans. Edited to add..... I said "They" because I think we all know by now that Biden isn't making the decisions.
