I only ate half of the stuffed pepper last night, and I had leftover garlic pasta, so I just made some more pasta to stretch it. Add a salad & rolls, and that will be dinner.

Went shopping early this morning to stock up the cat food, then I bought a few items for myself. One purchase was for a long thin box of those strawberry cream rolls for my sweet tooth. I ate 2/3rds of the box and took a long nap but when I woke up my taste buds spotted that strawberry box and the taste suddenly came back. So I guess you could say I had strawberry cream rolls for supper. The weather is so nice my nap was very nice and cozy. Now I have no strawberry left if I should lay there all night unable to fall asleep. It's like that movie about the zombies with Woody Harrelson . He hated those Snowballs and couldn't find any Twinkies on the wrecked Hostest Delivery Tuck. I would hate to find the strawberry rolls because I would be zombie food for sure. :D

    That roasted asparagus sounds great.

So far scrambled eggs and applesauce is on my board, but that can be erased fairly easily should my culinary brain fog lift.

Just finished buttered grits with melted sharp cheddar on toast. There were several foods never served in the Army during my 5 year stay. No Beans, No Grits, Only dehydrated Potatoes overseas for 3 years, no matter how you prepared them they taste like a wet rolled up news paper. Lest I forget that stringed pork roast every other day, not the greatest thing to eat in the Tropics. Now I make up for the Beans and Grits missed a long time ago. It's true the Navy has the best food of all the Armed Forces. I could never understand that since the menu is prepared in the department of defense and was supposed to be adhered to by all the services. Not one time did any of us overseas get a steak, it was in black and white that we were to get steak twice a week. Of course we know where it all went, to the black market soon as the ship docked. You could go to any large hotel in Saigon where all the news A__Holes were holed up and get all the steak you wanted. Nothing ever changes... The special forces lived in the hamlets and little villages in nice homes most of the time. They did their own cooking and the food was great, nothing like we were eating on the airfield. Thank goodness we had a PX that stocked a few canned goods.
