Generally, I do not pay attention to my caloric intake daily, but perhaps it's time I do. Today I tracked it all, and am shocked.....
I keep going back to the cookies and the sweets I've tried to kick. I would not want to count my calories, nor would I want to count my refined carbs.
I don't plan on being slid into a coffin so I only worry about having good blood work and no diabetes. When and if that should ever happen then I would pay more attention to what I am eating. I don't eat like most people do, never ever eat breakfast but sometime between lunch time and dark I have a bite. No fried foods and just simple meals, I love the chili and beans with rice and butter beans and rice with buttered bread. I do have candy but not everyday, once a week or every two weeks. I stopped buying the cakes and other treats the cost just became too high and that is always the best deterrent, empty pockets.
I usually eat 1200-1500 calories per day. I "spend" too many of them on dessert, but you only live once.
I don't count calories and never have even when my weight soared to 201 lbs. I don't care how many calories are in a food, but how it is for protein, fats, and carbs.
Getting on a scale will tell you if you are consuming too many or too little calories. That's a lot less bookkeeping.
So far today? About 5. That said, I’ll probably knock out between 1,200 to 2K throughout the day and use about 2K or so depending on how vigorously I attack the day. Little known fact: The human brain uses between 250-300 calories a day.
Let's see if you count the ice cream, Butterfingers, Potato Sticks, Milky Way, salami sandwich on a pretzel roll, soda, Arby's roast beef sandwich with a knishes, two bananas, three coffees, cereal, I probably had about 3,000 calories. If I Only Had a Brain I lose between 250 and 300 cal., last week I was told by my doctor to go on a low fat diet because I have a fatty liver. I've been trying to figure out what I can eat that's low fat and low calories so I can lose some weight And get my liver back in shape, oh I forgot I did have some health food today I had a glass of water.HaHa.
Two words for your liver problem. Milk Thistle. It won’t help the fat on the outside of your liver but it will definitely clean it up inside and make it work better.
I heard that, I'm going to be putting in an order to Swanson for my Vitamins and Herbs, I'll add that to the list. Thanks
Swanson catalog has this mix that's good for your liver: Amount Per Serving% Daily ValueMilk Thistle Seed (Silybum marianum) 700 mg *Dandelion Root (Taraxacum officinale) 250 mg *Yellow Dock Root (Rumex crispus) 250 mg *Beet Root (Beta vulgaris) 100 mg Going to order it and give it a try.
A blend that I use has milk thistle and Dandelion Root also so in my book that’s a pretty good call. The way it was explained to me is if you have a pool and the filter is dirty then your pool still has dirty water circulating in it and it is also slowed down. The same goes for our blood system. If the liver is dirty, so is our blood and because the liver is dirty, our circulation is also slowed down and it’s hard on our heart.
I went to the Chinese buffet for lunch and had: Soup -Hot & Sour soup with fried noodles Appetizer Plate -Chicken wing -Egg roll -Fried dumplings -Fried calamari Main Course -Stir fried pork -Black pepper chicken -Green beans -Clams -Rice Dessert Jelly beans and a PayDay candy bar. oops Let me see if I can add all that up...
No I do not anymore. I try to eat in moderation even tho I am a bit overweight. It more important what your eating versus , how many calories- for most people.
