Spot on. The trick is to not give a damn what other people think. :D

In the society of human nature there will always be those who find fault when someone thinks or does things differently.
My heavens, I’m sure there are still folks who believe that left handed people are somehow mentally disadvantaged.

The positive side to it is that without negativity, there wouldn’t be so many authors making major bucks writing self help books that teach people how to be positive.

That brought back memories. I was born left handed. As a child, I couldn't figure out why my mom forced me to do everything right handed. I found out later that she thought left handed people were "stupid."

That is what the media of the time told her.

My dad was left handed. I remember him saying that he was forced by the teacher to write right handed when he started school as a child. He did everything else in life left handed, but writing.

Well, the world is FULL of negativity! And, when things aren't going the way you want them to, or would like them to, it's very easy to become negative about things. There are those that wonder why there is crime during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. One police officer told me, "Crime doesn't know holidays! There will always be those that will do anything to get money to pay for illegal drugs they want, no matter what time of the year it is."

My BIL (wife's brother) has the "I don't care what anyone thinks" and the "I don't care what goes on in the world" attitude. He doesn't really care what goes on in the family. He would feel just fine if nobody in the family ever contacted him again.

IOW, there are those that don't care at all what others think and those that do.

Some are better at negativity than others. Take to it like a duck to a junebug, they do.....

My older brother was a southpaw. The school in his early years used corporal punishment to try to fix it.

Sorry, Ken, but when people have financial, health or family problems, negativity will always show its face up. It can be very hard to be positive, or "that" positive, when any of those enter the picture.

My response is generally anger which always helps me get my butt in gear.
Funny thing is I have always wondered Why me? But it is why is it that the rest of the world has so much trouble and I am fine.
When I was first married we got a basement apartment in Milwaukee where, when it rained, mud would flush into our bathroom floor. My father said we were so happy we didn't realize how miserable we were.
Of course I have had times where I was afraid and mourning etc but maybe our definition of negativity is different.
