It was announced on this evenings news that ex-President Donald Trump is to stand trial in NYC for 34 felony counts of paying hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Trump attended the pre-trail hearing by video and appeared quite angry. The trail is scheduled for March 25th, just a week after "Super Tuesday". The judge ordered Trump to NOT schedule anything that would prevent him from attending the trial personally.

I don’t know why they’re bothering with a trial. The entire cadre involved in this disgrace hate him and will find him guilty of anything they bring up. He will appeal and win on appeal. It’s just anti-Trump propaganda. In the end, it makes no legal difference to his electability. He could be in jail and still run.

I have been reading about this happening for some time now. One of the things that it will do is set a precedent for bringing criminal charges on a former president, so even if Trump is found not guilty, or charges dismissed, it will still have set things up so that Obama, or Biden can also be charged with criminal activity .

I was unaware that Biden and/or Obama had committed any acts that could be a felony. Hmm ?

One would imagine that the appeal would not be heard until after the election.

Except that Republicans don't do that.

That is why I think Obama is returning to his homeland--Kenya.

I believe what is ticking Trump off isn’t so much the trial but the gag order that has been placed on him.
According to the order, other than what has already been published / said, he can’t divulge anything else to the public concerning the charges or trial.

Seems to me that if the State of New York is the plaintiff, then D. Trump should be able to say whatever he wants to anyone particularly anyone included in the State of New York.
Perhaps a 1st amendment right suit against the judge might be looming in the wings of this play?

That wouldn't surprise me. He can certainly afford the best attorneys money can buy.

To me, if the charges are found to be frivolous or even if he’s found not guilty, then the State Of New York, or Bragg, should be responsible for Trump’s attorney(s) fees.

Well at least there is a silver lining. It's unbelievable how desperate the Left is to derail Trump. I don't know which is worse, hate, or their love of power and money:( He sure is a fighter, maybe crazy for doing it, but that's President Trump! I think if I was him, I'd let America just go down the tube, it may anyway.

Evidently not the way if they can't body-slam the people that are pulling the strings to get him banished forever :( I'll still never know what he did to deserve the "special treatment from hell" that the left service up, just for him.

He was on his way to reveal who the “string pullers” are and get rid of them hence their need for him to go away.

Yes, I hope he still can reveal them. Twitter becoming the best source of honest news could sure help, except for folks that still listen to radio, or cable TV "only".

It is not just the Left that is trying to derail Trump. Republicans like Jeb Bush and his brother, along with the likes of Mitt Romney and Lisa Murkowski are trying as well. Nothing can get in the way of their influence and money stream.
