You guys are an inspiration! With the smoke from the Canadian fires and our drought going on, I have been positing the possibility of fires around here. What would we do and where we would go. People are setting off fireworks tonite and it causes me concern. Won't know if sparks set off anything for a while. Most of the big displays are near water but lots of illegal celebrations happen without thought of our tinder situations this year.
You're right about the fireworks my neighbor two houses down was shooting fireworks off in the street since we're in Mobile homes which Have low roofs We were concern about the fireworks being so close. Well They tried to set off a chinese lantern and It went haywire and landed on our roof, My daughter ran out of her mobile home to warn us of a fire on our roof. Fortunately my neighbor was able to climb onto the roof and put out the fire before the roof got engaged. All I could think was not again.
Nothing from Frank. I know that his health was bad and he was feeling down, but he hasn't checked in in a long time. I don't know what's going on with Al. I used to text him now and then, and Michelle and I had dinner with him not long after his wife died. But he's not responding.
He was leaving the hospital, Ken, but didn't specify if he was going home or to Rehab first. That was the last he told me.
I see Cody has been absent for several days. I am guessing he is moving to his new Nevada apartment. It will be interesting to see how this new rodeo plays out. He may have to swap his felt George Strait cowboy hat for a Jose Cuervo straw sombrero if he gets outside much. It is currently 95 at 8;15 AM and predicted to be 117 there today. I hope his apartment has good AC.
¡Aye, Pilgrim! On the other hand, our "Humiture" in Virginia is gonna top 100°F (38°C) a few times this week. I think I'd take a dry 117° over what we got. And our friends south and southwest of me got it even worse.
I was watching a youtube on the creatures on earth before dinosaurs. Talk about climate change over the eons! Not one mention of cars but there were ice ages, earth crust meltings and all sorts of stuff that wasn't my fault. But, humid weather, I don't weather well at all!
Apart from the incident with the rat poison in the iced tea, we are doing fine. More seriously, I have returned today to run the Main Street Coffee shop. Stop by today for a free iced tea!
Just an announcement……. Yesterday I had a message from @Terry Page , our longtime missing member here ! Terry had received the word about Frank’s passing and stopped by the forum to read the memorial thread. When I noticed that it said he was online; I messaged him. He wrote back, said he has not been on any forums for some time, but he and Lisa are both fine, still traveling and spending part of the time in Russia and part of the time in England . I know that we all miss his beautiful travel pictures, and wish that Terry would post more of them, but it was good to touch base with him and know that he is doing well and is enjoying life.
Where is Beth Gallagher ? On vacation? I asked in my status thinking someone would, answer but have not.
Yes Where is she? Looks like the last time she was online was july thirtieth. Maybe she's spending time with her family?
I'm worried about Beth, too. I sent her a PM a couple of days ago and she hasn't replied. I hope she is well and just busy.
