They sell generic ink cartridges on amazon and once I bought an injector to put ink in old cartridges but it didn't work for me.

This stinks , I’ve been with this telco 19 years …same phone number all that time

I changed from an actual plan to a 6 monthly pre paid service ,in 2017 ….which I had on direct debit so the money would come out each 6 months , it included all calls/ text and 60 g of data .

The cost had been jacked up to $180 ..from ..$150 so about 4 weeks ago I decided while in Aldi I’d change to
their system which uses Telstra’s towers. …….Aldi cost is $159.00 for 12 months includes lotsa data that you never loose if you don’t use it …not the case with Telstra … and you can use / keep your own number in transferring over from Telstra to Aldi

However I checked my Telstra app yesterday and again today ….to check how many days were left before my current plan ran out , it’s due to run out next week ( in 6 days ) ( my info had completely disappeared including my phone number)

TELSTRA … has deleted 100’s of pre paid accounts with no warning what so ever …… ( according to the lady I was talking to ) …. I don’t believe in aggression gets you anywhere so I was polite to her …

The odd thing is my phone is still working as usual …….but for how long …….I spent 2 hours on the phone to try to sort it out why my phone plan has been deleted resulting in me loosing my old phone number …..so I can’t register Aldi
and use my old number ……...OR …EVEN RENEW MY still existing plan

Can you imagine just how many professional places like Doctors / Medicare / have my old number …. and the list gos on and on ….without any personal family and friends

as well as my Apple Watch works through my phone, I’ve been instructed to call them again tomorrow so they can hopefully give me answers what happened to my phone number that was not theirs …. To delete IMO …it was not even a number supplied by them ..it was the number that came with a phone I purchased outright from Optus network

Im mad as hell about this unjust treatment of long term customers

I’ve ALWAYS PAID MY BILLS …

Is this how businesses are conducting themselves now ….well it’s disgusting to say the least

We call it customer no service. Verizon bought out my Tracfone and told me that our double minutes for life was cancelled next year as well as other perks. My husband has about 5000 minutes racked up because he never uses his phone so if I ever ran out, I could use his.
And, in my opinion, we never needed computers in our washing machines.

Sad you are having problems, @Kate Ellery. We haven't changed our provider in years. wife won't change as we have had experiences while travelling when we were the only ones with cell service.

The reliable coverage is why I have stuck with Verizon. I've mentioned that my only reason for getting a cell phone is the lack of available pay phones for emergencies. Verizon is the only one that seems to have coverage no matter where you go.

I'm sorry you have had so many issues, @Kate Ellery. I wonder if you can choose/register your original phone number with a new provider before it gets randomly assigned to someone else.

Our biggest issue regarding telcos for phone/ internet coverage is where we live, because we are two hours drive from the city (Adelaide) we don’t have the towers here for other telcos , Optus is hopeless and many have fled in droves from them due to a major data hack ( next to no coverage here for them )

Telstra has been around for more years than I care to remember, so it’s a major telco …..just putting on the boxing gloves for round 2 today
My phone is working still ..

So what is your regulatory agency like, Kate? If they are the only telecomm game in town, I can't believe they have the authority to just cut people off with zero options available. I hate to get politicians involved, but is there a state or federal representative you can contact with this and get some help? Tell them they got your vote next election; after all, they lie to us all the time ;)

Yep @John Brunner it’s Telstra or I believe Vodaphone will work here on limited coverage With the increase of population in the towns / areas around here you’d think there would be the demand for more telcos but that’s it ..the population must be up around the 20.000 here by now

the only place you can buy phones is our main shopping hub 20 Km from us …Woolworths sells Optus phones but what good are they cause they have very limited coverage…..or the one and only telco shop Telstra ..

My first ever mobile phone was Optus , I bought the phone outright in about 2004 ( the same number I still have ) HAD
but that was when we sold our home in Adelaide and went traveling for 2 years …..it was hopeless the moment you got 100 Km ( or less)
outside and major town / city so that’s when I changed to Telstra and took my purchased number with me.

I hate to think of the issues involved changing my number if I have to IMG_2264.gif

When we travel to Adelaide there is even an area on highway one for about 30 Km where my phone has no coverage at all and that’s only about 50 Km from the city….we are about 160 Km from city

Satellite phone? Do they work in the Southern Hemisphere? Expensive, but they always work...well, almost always.
