Ah yes, at least a link that provides some proof that there was no replacement. Good job @Chrissy Page......or is it? Goodness, it seems that McCartney said he kicked off his sandals because it was a "hot summers day". Oh no...could it be..........??.!!! Has anyone ever tried to walk barefoot across a blacktop street on a hot summers day? Why would anyone attempt it unless...............fade in the twighlight zone music.................!
I admit I never was a Beatles fan, but I can see a book. Think James Bond. I never read or watched those kind of theory type books or shows either. There are many theories that have been proven and disproving over history, but it takes a questing mind one way or the other.
What about those of us who could care less about the Beatles. Period. ..... living... dead ... cloned .... reincarnated.... whatever. I had my fill of this kind of talk after Elvis died. A waste of time. Will the next generation do this with Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars? ... Probably.
Yes indeed it has, and if you ask me why nicely I'll tell you at any time at all. You see, yesterday I saw this girl on TV and I commented, ain't she sweet while trying to act naturally of course. My wife, the lady, to whom I give all my lovin to said I was being a bad boy but because, I know you love me so I won't get out the chains and sent you back there, back in the U.S.S.R.
What????? Elvis dead???? Certainly I must have missed something! I thought he was captured while he served in Germany and is still living with Hitler's son in South America while teaching guys how to impersonate him for Las Vegas shows. Who's collecting the fees for the lessons now? Where does his 15% go? I woud like to formally thank you Bonnie, for without your information I would not have known about this horribly tragic incident. Your time was indeed NOT wasted. What to do? I am absolutely crushed! Uh....psssstttttttt.......who's Bruno Bieber and Justin Mars?
Stick around a few years? Uh.....this IS a seniors forum isn't it? I think ya might have to break it to me a little at a time as to how long a few years might be to someone my age? And, if I do last those "few years" will I be able to remember whatever it is that I am waiting a few years to stick around for? Who will let me know if I missed it or when it is about to happen if no one knows to tell me? Certainly, with Elvis dead and the Beatles gone with him there will be nothing to jar my memory back to this date so I will know that someone did indeed declare a prophetical moment having to do with two other uh.....what are they?
Yes, I realize that we all have to live 'in the moment' .... ... tomorrow ...??? Don't know who will be able to remember these people of mystery... and if we don't ... back to my original sentiment ... WHO CARES?? In a few years, remembering you and yours should be all that matters ...
Oh, but you are a shy one @Bonnie Thomas. I see so much compassion and humility all over your uh.....blue, pink, yellow and green emoticons. For without you, I might have not known that the king is no longer living in South America but in some other place even the Beatles know not where or back in the U.S.S.R.... You, my dear are the epitome and bastion of care for which I have not enough thanks for I know you care or you would not have offered up your time to allow this humble servant the opportunity to....face..the facts. And the sentiment about remembering me and mine. A beautiful sentiment and a caring thought but to what end? For the end doth come to those whose heart and memory is lost and given to the gods that playfully abandon us all that Olympus might be remembered only by those who are the wayward sons and daughters they have produced. Mortal man will cry out, "what is life without thee", when all good and merciful memory belongs to them?
Since this question was directed to me I'll respond. Directed to me because I'm one of those "could care less about the Beatles" people. It's not that I don't like music... I'm in the business and it's actually my life... but the Beatles were "before my time" because they started breaking up when I was a pre-teen, so not much exposure. Anyhow, getting to my point... I don't feel it's a waste of time talking about things like this. It gives us a diversion and lets us use our brain cells to reason and form opinions. I'm a firm believer that if we *don't* use those cells, especially after age 50, that aging happens a lot faster. Now who wants that?! I seriously at this point don't have a clue (except for Lennon, of course) which of the Beatles are alive or dead. But the link about the rumors was a fascinating read. I wasn't a Teamster either, but followed the Hoffa story over the decades and even recently. And didn't we all (speak for yourself, Mari, sheesh!) look at that pic of Elvis in casket and gasp with "oh my goodness, they're right, that's NOT Elvis?!" And I wanted the reports of MJ's death to be fake. It's just part of life that people question. Kind of fun following after the chatter.
I chatter to myself a lot these days Mari, and tending to agree on most things, I come here when I want some real brain exercise, plus I love sprinkling lots of my unused vowels around.
It's good we all can express our POV here...I so understand Bonnie's sentiment and know she's very down-to-earth in her approach to such things. I think as we get older we do tend to focus on things that resonate with us. I see "much ado about nothing" but others see "isn't that interesting". The nicest thing is when we can just be kind to each other in the most basic ways.
