This morning 168/90/94, I started to wonder about this 10 mg amlodipine B.P. medicine, if it even works or not. Anyway, if any of you know about teeth and dentists scraping on them, a good or bad thing, I would like to hear your opinion, thanks. :)

We actually have a thread about dentist visit and blood pressure, and that thread would be a great place to ask questions about dental visits, @Jake Smith , since this thread is only about taking blood pressure and not dentists.

Just had my regular cardiologist visit today. BP 118/74. My carotid ultrasound showed under 50% blockage which he said, for my age, is acceptable. Anything over 70% will need to be addressed.

Here is a great informative video from Dr. William Davis , all about things that you can do at home to lower your blood pressure naturally and may even be able to lower your use of costly BP medication, @Jake Smith .

I have been following Dr. Davis videos for a couple months now and my last lab results showed some really great improvements in my health markers and heart and kidney health.

Thanks, Yvonne, I will watch it because I don't like taking B.P. meds and their side effects. I will get back after watching and tell you what I thought. :)

@Yvonne Smith, he seems smart about it to me and I will keep watching some more of his videos, some of the things we do but there's always room for improvement, in our lives. Thank you again for the video. :)

I just watched the video, and it sounds like good advice. He isn't the only one who advises about eliminating grains or at least slowing down till you can do so. I already don't eat many carbs including grains. But today I did eat open face one slice chicken sandwich.
Thanks Yvonne. I don't like to take meds if I can get same result naturally.

I am also eating low-carb, @Marie Mallery , and it has helped me to feel much better. There are lots of healthy carbs, like vegetables, that i do eat, because they have the fiber we all need, but so many foods are just junk carbs, like ice cream, cookies, and drinks like soda pop or beer. They use up the vitamins and minerals from good foods and destroy our bodies in the process.
What is interesting is that ANY food from grain, dairy, or sugar is addicting, because it ignites the opioid receptors in our brain, which makes it even harder to stay away from foods made with any of these basic items.

After watching the videos about what damage grains and sugars can do, I am kicking them out of my food plan, and limiting dairy to a little kefir or the L.Reuteri probiotic yogurt.

I know ice cream is addictive for me. But since I only eat whole milk never low fat anything, it helps counter the carbs a little.
I do know many foods are bad and some are good for us, but then I know some real healthy eaters who died early from all kinds of things. Then I know some that had really bad diets and lived into their 90s or even 112 ' Oldest living vet, Overton '. I think genes have a lot to do with it too.
I do know food can help and I eat very few carbs and if I do eat high carbs it cost me lots of workout.
I do want to eat more greens and such, plant some soon as I turn over and fertilizer raised bed. I just busted open my leg with fan falling on it so not sure when I will get started since it needs to stop bleeding. Do we ever learn to realize EVERYTHING is out to get us, slow down!!?

Yvonne, I haven't seen the Reuteri Yogurt but I do buy organic Stony Field and Dannon they are the only 2 in the store that is whole milk. I don't use anything that is low fat, never have even when I might should have. Someday soon I hope to use your recipe for kefir.

The L.Reuteri yogurt is one that you have to make yourself, @Marie Mallery . I think we have a thread about it here somewhere, but basically it is a special yogurt that helps with depression , anti-aging and healthy gut bacteria.
It contains the lactobacillus Reuteri, which is why it has that name.
It is discussed in this thread:
    http://www.seniorsonly.club/threads/gut-heath.12769/page-12

Kefir , you do not even need a recipe for. Just order some kefir packets from Amazon, put one in a quart jar of milk and let it sit out on the counter for around 12-15 hours (like overnight) , or until you can see that it is thickening up, and then it is ready to chill in the refrigerator and drink.
Save about 1/4 of a cup to start the next batch. Just fill the jar back up with milk and leave it out again.
You can make several batches from each packet of kefir mix, so they last a long time.
    So healthy

Ok thanks Yvonne and soon as things calm down I will try and get on it. Glad you told me I won't be finding the Reuteri in the store.;)
