We can only HOPE that they fit us! If not, no party and no more costumes.

As for Golden Corral, we went to the one in Loveland, Colorado quite often. Went there once for a Sunday dinner, but the place was filthy! The waiters/waitresses simply couldn't keep up with cleaning tables and keeping the floor cleaned. There were some extremely messy people eating there that night!

We decided that we liked breakfast there much more than dinner. Since leaving Colorado, haven't been to the Golden Corral here in Henderson, but have been to the breakfast and dinner buffet at South Point Hotel/Casino and it was great!

Have found out that not all Golden Corral Buffet's are the same..........some very good, while others, definitely not so.

Special clothes worn in the performance of employment or religious schooling, I consider a uniform. Clothes worn to create an appearance of being in that employment, trade, or lifestyle, constitutes a costume. What was once a uniform during my working years, is not found in my closet since wearing it, would now constitute a costume.

I have never understood Halloween and the fascination with the macabre. What is the fascination with horrible deaths, mutilations, blood, internal organs, zombies, and evil apparitions? Why does any adult want to dress up in a costume that signifies the macabre and evil? The brutal and medieval unconscionable violence by Hamas on the Jews, should satisfy all who find fascination with human cruelty. It pains me to the very core of my existence.

    Dunno @Holly Woods.
People go to NASCAR races to see wrecks and as a second, see who wins. If someone dies, the fans may morn but they’ll play the video over and over until there’s no more adrenaline left to be had. .
If the majority of movies didn’t include the macabre, killing and blood and guts, we’d be stuck with Doris Day movies and the like. The name Alfred Hitchcock exudes the mysterious and macabre.
Folks may go to rodeos to see who can ride the broncos and bulls the best but if no one got bucked off, there’d be little left of rodeo.
Even fairy tales and kids nursery rhymes are filled with death, mutilation, torture, disease and even cannibalism. Nearly every cartoon on the television is violent and speaking of videos, check out what games the kids are playing.
Bull fighting is another one. If a matador gets gored and dies, he Was very brave indeed and the bull eventually still dies too.

We do not celebrate Halloween in any way shape or form but to those who do, have fun. It’s one day and if a little girl is dressed like a princess or a guy looks like Frankenstein, it’s all part of innocent fun which is far removed from the more psychologically damaging events that we either enjoy watching, or enjoy doing on a daily basis.

Now, so far as the costume thing goes, every time I put on a good set of clothing to go somewhere I don’t want to go, it’s a costume or rather, a facade.
And, just to be a little on the lighter side, women wear costumes every day. Makeup, hair die, fanny pads, push-up bras, high heels etc…are all part of a costume are they not?

Those could be either uniforms or costumes.

Just "what on earth" are you saying here?? Halloween has been around forever, just like Christmas/Santa Claus and Elf outfits. Absolutely nothing wrong with adults dressing up for Halloween. My wife's mother, at 88 years old, made herself a costume of the Statue of Liberty and won 1st Prize at the Halloween Party she attended for Seniors. Actually, wife and I, in 2003, dressed up as Batman and Cat Woman. Had a blast! Went to a Halloween Party years ago and a guy was dressed up like Iron Man, which included all of the cool lights.

As far as horrible deaths, that's movies! Halloween is fun for all, including seniors!

Man, you ought to see all the younger gals at the gym sporting phony glutes under those tight yoga pants.
I call it botox butt but in reality…it’s just padding.

Yes, it's very old. Its origins were as a Celtic pagan holiday known as Samhain.

Just checked all lights/sounds in the Vader costume, including my $125 Light Saber, and everything works. Have to buy some more Energizer AA/AAA Lithium batteries, but can use them at Christmas also. Now, to hope the suit still fits me and the Stormtrooper one fits my wife yet. Lucky for her, she has no lights/sounds to her costume. I put my Vader helmet on and shocked my wife when I walked into the spare bedroom where she is working. But, she loves it! She tried on her Stormtrooper helmet and it fits perfectly.

Horrible deaths are just movies? I would respectfully disagree. I think the Jews, near the Gaza strip, would also disagree. Halloween differs from the Day of the Dead, which in many cultures is a day, some believe, the living communicate with the dead. Haunted houses and costumes that display horrendous acts like beheading, dismantled bodies, etc., is what I was referring in my previous post.

Halloween does have a Satanical overtone, however not all that go to parties or dress up in costumes on Oct. 31, are celebrating that evil. I find costumes that glorify cruelty, disrespectful to those that died horrible deaths. I doubt that families with relatives murdered by an axe splitting open their skulls, find costumes depicting such, amusing.

Well, Holly, let's just "agree to disagree". How's that? However, there are members of this forum that would definitely disagree with your reasoning and I'm one of them. Then again, you're certainly entitled to your opinion.

I could care less if this entire forum disagrees with my opinions. I welcome any and all intelligent discussion why one has reached their opinion, whether it is in agreement with mine or not. I never agree to disagree for the simply reason such, without intelligent discussion, serves no productive purpose.

You do have a point. Not trying to get in middle of disagreement but good analogy.

Funny, but your post here has the word "attitude" all through it! And then, there are those on this forum that will say to me "is that all you like to do is argue about something?"

Then again, "agreeing to disagree" really doesn't solve the discussion/problem, does it? So, I do know how you feel. WOW, did I really say that???
