That sounds like a nice day. I guess your husband is gonna be doing upkeep until the place sells? I guess maintaining "curb appeal" will be easier in the winter than in the nicer weather.

Hey Faye. Hope you had a nice TG, too. I have not tried those bras so let me know how you like it.

Have you ever tried a "swell spot" for swelling under your arm? I have one of these... https://www.lymphedemaproducts.com/...utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces#3373 It fits in a regular bra and puts gentle pressure to help reduce the swelling. I find that it helps with the aching, too. Some people make their own swell spots, shaping them to cover whatever size area that they need.

I own several of the Solidea "active massage" compression sleeves that are made in Italy. They recently started making bras out of the compression material but I haven't tried one yet. They are very pricey so maybe the new Medicare laws for lymphedema garments will help me buy one next year. :D

Yes, he will be handling the upkeep while his brother sits on his ass, as usual. The estate sale is supposed to happen in January, so once the house is cleared out it will be cleaned and painted, and whatever cosmetic fixes are needed before putting it on the market.

I have relatives like that. When I heard that someone took the zero turn, my mind immediately went to your husband having to maintain the property while slackers poach the tools instead of leaving them for the guy who's pulling their weight to use until things are finalized.

My mother had dementia, and my oldest sister rented a U-Haul and started cleaning out the estate while my mother was still living there. (Did I mention that I don't have contact with my relatives?)

I have to say, this estate business has been a nightmare and we can't wait for it to be done with. People never fail to disappoint me.

As for the zero-turn, it's going to our daughter. When she realized that her dad was still using it to maintain the yard, they left it for the time being. My father-in-law also had a small tractor and several other lawn mowers, so there are plenty of lawn care implements to use.

I haven't tried the pads made for such. Sometimes I use a heat pad or a cold jell pack. I may try those pads. I decided against the bra because it had a few poor reviews and on sale with no return. I have one zip front sports bra that works good, but is a bit bulky. I need to order some new sleeves and those Italian ones sound great.

You probably don't need a swell spot as long as that one; it fits from my mid-chest to around under my arm. Since I don't have a breast on that side, it covers all the area where swelling is possible. You'd probably do better with one of the "half-moon" styles made for the axilla area only.

Faye, do you have an "official diagnosis" of lymphedema? If not, get your doctor to diagnose you and have it in your records. Medicare will finally begin paying for lymphedema treatment and garments in January 2024, but you must have an actual diagnosis and probably need a Rx for treatment garments.

It is official both for lower abdomen and under right arm. I will have my new doc issue the official prescription and see what is available. My PCP of 30 years just retired so I have to see the doc that took over or find another doc. I hate the new PCP doc thing because of all my other issues and trying to explain what specialist have said as opposed to what they were told in medical school. So far my choice in my former clinic, is one of two young guys. I have never found a male doctor that truly understands women issues like a biological female.

That's interesting. I had no idea the two were similar that way. I used to take chitin years ago when it was promoted for it's ability to bind with fat and escort it out of your system so you do not digest it. I knew chitin was extracted from shrimp shells, but did not realize the commonality with bugs, nor did I know chitin was a trigger for seafood allergies.
