Some laws can be stressful and antagonistic whilst some provide security and safety, both of which cause chemical reactions that can be either psychologically damaging or soothing.

At present there are about 10,000 laws and close to 300,000 state laws in place not to mention the thousands of regulations that are supposed to help and protect American Citizens and the country we live in.

Even though it would seem that we have enough laws or even too many laws, I do maintain that some things that should have laws attached to them have been sorely overlooked.
    For an example:
I wanted a sandwich today which should cause no muss and no fuss at all but not so.
It seems that every time I pick up a new loaf of bread, there’s no telling which direction the packaging folks on the production line twist up the ties to seal a loaf of bread.
With my eyes, I can’t see if it’s twisted to the left or the right so I have to do the trial and error method ending with an extremely ill tempered Bobby who is almost ready to chunk the whole thing against a wall !!
Eventually however, I do get it right and all is well with the universe…kinda.

So, with all that said, There Should Be A Law which governs which direction the twist ties on a new loaf of bread are tied.
Right or left, I don’t care as long as it’s the same way every time!!
Ya never know who might get frustrated enough to go and burn down a Wonder Bread or whatever bread factory all because he or she had a hard time getting to the DERNED bread!!!

Breathe in, breathe out. Good air in, bad air out.

Now that all is well again and I have eaten my sandwich, what else has been overlooked and needs a law to fix things and make one calm and well adjusted again?

You've got my vote for senator, Bobby!

While you're straightening out the bread companies would you ask them to slice their bread so that every slice is 100 calories? Right now I have whole wheat that is 130 calories per slice and white bread that is 60 calories and everything in between. Dieting is hard enough without difficult math problems thrown in.

I personally think all laws--Federal at least--should expire after 10 years and have to be re-endorsed. That would make the number of laws fewer, and make them see what stupid stuff they have passed in the past.

    Actually, maybe a sub-category is needed here. e.g. There Shouldn’t Be A Law Against…..
In Colorado it’s illegal to collect rainwater
In Alabama it’s illegal to open an umbrella on the street.

I liked the idea that someone proposed once: that no new laws could be enacted unless an old one was repealed.

I am so sick of stupid laws which at best can be said are meaningless. Are we to think that our legislators are working in our best interests or just plain working for a change?

99% of the laws in this nation should be stricken from the books. Only those in the Book of Laws should be used that are necessary to mandate keeping us in a civil society,

The people we elect to represent us these days haven't a clue as to what should be considered truly legitimate or not.

    Sad.

Well, Beth, that ship should have taken the entire Congress with it and sank when it hit the Mariana Trench.

Betcha can't guess what I think of the Legislative part of our government.
