The Supreme decided against Texas vs Biden yesterday. Texas cannot stop illegals from crossing the border. Governor Abbott is quoted as saying, "This is not over". Does this mean Texas will ignore the Supreme Court? It could be interesting. You folks in Texas have an opinion? Would that be a de facto secession? Would other states come to the defense of Texas against the Feds? Interesting times.

I assume this means the Supreme Court justices' homes are now open for visitors, as they have commanded we must leave our doors open for random visitors.

Here is what Texas will do……. they are busy putting up even more wire to keep illegals out of Texas……. Good for Texas ! My mom was from Texas, so I guess I have a little bit if inherited Texan in me, maybe ?

Anyway, the truckers are also starting a convoy to the southern border in Texas, Arizona, and California. Hoping this goes better than the Jan.6th peaceful rally went; but they can’t blame this one on Trump quite as easily.

Even Katie Hobbs in Arizona believes the decision was wrong, and she, too, is apparently sending National Guard troops to the border. Many of the Democrat establishment are decrying the decision. Texas believes they have the right to defend its own border regardless of what the nation does. so, as you said, I think Abbott is going to continue his policies. According to reports, even the majority of the Democrat legislators in Texas support Abbott on this. Looks like another "insurrection" is brewing. I wonder if the Capitol police and the FBI will be down there to escort the truckers to the border?

Now that the southern states are bussing illegals to the democratic sanctuary cities, they are really beginning to see the illegals crossing the border in droves as a problem for them, too, and not just the border states’ problem.
The people are dropping away from supporting Biden and their Democratic legislators as they have to struggle with all of the illegals taking over hotels, parks, schools, and maybe homes next. The New York mayor was already talking about having people shelter the illegals in their homes and apartments.

I am seeing people on Twitter every day now saying that they have never even considered voting for Trump before, and voted for Hillary and Biden, but will be voting Trump in the next election.

As I understand it this is not a final disposition of the issue.

lf the Biden administration was in prison for treason, as they should be, their replacements would be afraid to disregard our laws.

The Founders failed to foresee that the American people would someday elect traitors, if they really did elect Biden. Defending the country is the main job of the federal government. I’ll step off my soapbox and leave you a link to Andrea Widburg’s column.

I don’t think Abbott will give in. It looks like he will escalate instead.

According to Fox NH voters chose illegal immigration as their #1 issue in the exit polls today.

This lack of universality--especially among the "diverse and tolerant"--is the death of self-governance.

And Kamala has come out blaming the border crisis on Republicans.

Par for the course. The Geezer-in-Chief gave a speech today blaming Trump for the overturn of Roe V Wade. The dems are going to start beating the abortion drum because that's basically all they've got.

Yeh, that's an organized tactic. It's "The worse crisis facing this nation" because abortion is restricted in some large number of states. Maybe this is a good thing. We need to see if the misery of the past 4 years that the media covers up combined with "Abortion restrictions are our largest problem" is gonna wake enough people up.

I've been trying to figure out exactly what the SCOTUS ruling was; all I see is that it "allows border razor wire removal". :rolleyes:o_O

EAGLE PASS, TX - Even though Border Patrol now has the legal ability to cut the razor wire installed by the state of Texas at the southern border, it does not appear that Texas will let them do it without a fight.

On Monday, the US Supreme Court voted 5-4 in favor of the federal government, clearing the way for Border Patrol agents to cut or clear out concertina wire that Texas has put along the banks of the Rio Grande to deter migrants from entering the U.S. illegally.

The ruling only strengthened the divide between Texas officials like Governor Greg Abbott and the United States Government. Just one day after the Supreme Court ruling, Governor Abbott sent out a statement on X saying, “The Texas National Guard continues to hold the line."

As I understand it @Beth Gallagher SCOTUS lifted a ban on the removal of obstacles put in place to defend Texas from invasion. It is not the final decision, but it allows the Feds to remove obstacles to invasion until the case completes the appeals process. Who knows how long that will take and how many people will stream into the country aided by the Red Cross and other NGOs. It was a blow to Texas and to the right of states to defend themselves. A sad day, but as I said, I assume it opens the houses of the justices who decided against Texas to visitors from all parts of the nation and the world. No appointment needed; just show up at the door and force your way in if it isn't open.;)

Why is Mexico at least not being held accountable for their own people? What is Mexico doing to stop the them from fleeting to the US? Nothing that I see or read. To expect or even assume that Americans should or could house the very people who do not belong here - is outrageous. Even if I were not a born and raised Texan would stand behind Abbott.
Seriously, there is no other recourse.

Most of the people coming across the border are not from Mexico, but from further south in Central America, and now a lot of them are coming from Africa, and some of the mid-eastern countries, like Pakistan.
The ones that are actually from Mexico are probably the least of our problems, because they are here with families, or with green cards and are holding down jobs .
I think that most of the Hispanics that live near us fit into this category, although many of them are from Guatemala and not Mexico. But they are nice people, take good care of their kids , and don’t cause any trouble, for the most part.
They have jobs and pay their rent, and live just like everyone else here, not like the ones we see streaming across the border and being put into the hotels and schools in sanctuary cities.

Whether I agree with everything Abbott does or not, I have a deep admiration for him as a politician. He does not "go with the flow" or knuckle under when under pressure. He does the job that we elected him to do.

Oh and Abbott's wife Cecelia is Hispanic; she is the granddaughter of Mexican immigrants.

A border is just a line. Once it's stepped over, it becomes trespassing. The feds have dominion over the border but Texas has dominion over trespassing.

Woe, and yeehaw for the truckers!! I so hope it goes good as well. Afterall it is our right to peaceful protests!! Of course our last trucker protests didn't "seem" to do much but many of us true Americans were behind them and it we all got our motors revved up!! Can't wait to view the videos since I can't be there with them.
