I wonder what state his employment contract was based in. Tucker's lawyers claim that FOX breached first. In either case, remedies for breach by either party will be contained in the contract...unless it was written on the back of a Holiday Inn napkin.
As far as I can see, all that Tucker Carlson is doing is posting things on his Twitter account, which is no violation of any part of his contract with Fox News. He is not in any contract with Twitter, or even receiving any money for his posts on Twitter, from what I have read. At the time that his contract with Fox was written, Twitter was still being run very poorly, and certainly not a consideration in any news contracts with Fox. It definitely looks to me like at some point, Carlson will do something that monetizes his Twitter feed, but he is not doing that now. Some people have opened their content for paid subscriptions to be able to read what they post, but everything that Tucker has posted has been open for anyone to watch.
I've never thought about what governs in these cases: business contract law or employment law. I think in most states, these Covenants to not Compete have generally been held to be unenforceable, because they impede the little guy's ability to make a living. But that's employment law.
The video is there when you post it, @Mary Stetler ; but you have to click the watch on youtube link in order to actually watch the video.
This was such a good listen with Tucker Carlson talking mostly about President Trump, but especially what he believes (and I believe) about the America of today. It's only about 10 minutes long, but I can see why so many people are fans of Tucker Carlson, this was such a moving piece for me to hear:
The news on Twitter is that Tucker Carlson is in Russia and supposedly going to interview President Putin ! He probably would not already be there if everything was not already set up for the interview, but it would probably take them a while to get it ready to broadcast once it is done. I hope that he is actually doing this. ! I am starting to like Tucker more each time I listen to one of his interviews…… even the hyena laugh is growing on me, for heaven’s sake . Today, i watched his interview about the dangers of Ozempic and how it is destroying the person’s digestive tract, stopping serotonin production, and even causing people to be suicidal. It is really informative and worth watching the whole thing, and they talk not only about the dangers of Ozempic, but also what is causing the obesity epidemic here in America.
I'm thinking they are looking for a new "statin" they can pedal to the masses. Maybe they will convince everyone to take a shot to keep their weight down.
The big news lately is about Tucker Carlson going to Russia, and possibly interviewing President Putin. He was seen going into the building where he would have likely met with Putin, and this promises to be as spectacular of an interview as anything that Tucker has done. I have been watching the news about this, and their Russian news has been interviewing people on the street, and they overwhelmingly like Tucker, think that he is an honest person, and shake their heads that people in America don’t like him and support Biden. There was a lot of speculation about whether the interview would be allowed, or even aired if he does do it; but I believe that Tucker would have worked all of this out before he even went to Russia. An interesting thing about this is, in my opinion , that next to President Trump, Tucker Carlson is probably the most popular American around the world. If something does happen to Trump where he can’t run for president, I think that Tucker could get enough support to win the election if he ran (and the election was fair). Tucker Carlson is acting very much like a president these days, going to other countries and meeting their presidents.
Here is Tucker Carlson, telling us about his trip to Russia. This is a 4 minute video, well explained, and worth the time to listen to !
Wonderful post , @Yvonne Smith! I have long said that if Russia is actually defeated, our freedom is at an end. Ironically, Putin is actually fighting for the freedom of the West and that is why those who control us don't want anyone to see the other side of the conflict. Informed opinion is what keeps us free, and the governments of the West want to keep us distracted and uninformed as Tucker stated. I admire Carlson's courage in doing this and Musk for not censoring it on X.
I looked at his website, and it is $6 monthly to join, but the interview will be free when he puts it on Twitter and probably on his youtube channel. It does not say when the interview will be live, but I am sure that people will be waiting all over the world to watch it when it comes out.
Yvonne, thank you for posting the video. Carlson makes a lot of sense. I agree with him and look forward to watching the interview with Putin.
