But Johnson was not ELECTED twice. If they declare Trump as having been actually elected, he would not be eligible to run again. As @Silvia Benoit knows, Argentina is a strange but wonderful country. It has been a financial mess for decades now and Mr. Milei is trying to reverse that. That means a lot of people will lose their government largesse and benefits. That is part of the uproar among the farmers in the EU--loss of farm subsidies and tax breaks. In Argentina, I think it was mostly used to buy votes; in Europe, it is the "Green Agenda" trying to punish conservative voters and at the same time starve the people into submission. It is a tough fight against those who are "entitled" whichever side they are on.
Personally I am sick and tired of partisan politics. I don't give a happy damn who "gets credit," I just want the border closed. We need a clean sweep in Washington.
Here is my understanding of that happened with Johnson, @Don Alaska . In 1963, he was moved to the presidency when Kennedy was assassinated, and he finished that term, unelected. In 1964, Johnson ran for office and was elected to his first term. In 1968, he ran for office again for his second term, but dropped out of the race before the actual election. Had he not dropped out of the race, and been elected for his second term, he would have served two full terms elected, plus over a year of Kennedy’s term. So, Trump was elected in 2016, served one term. If the 2020 election is deemed fraudulent, then Trump would serve the last year of Biden’s term, and then be able to be elected for his second term in 2024. If they say 2020 was stolen from Trump, we are in a situation we have never had before in this country, because even though Trump should have been in office for the last 3 years, he has not been, so it can’t count as him serving a second term.
If that is the way it plays out. This situation was not envisioned by the Founders, as they never thought our electorate would be as uninformed and gullible as it now is. If the election were deemed fraudulent, I think Congress would impeach both Biden and Harris and Mike Johnson would serve out the remainder of the term. Of course, the Dems in the Senate would have to convict, and fraud is their stock and trade, so it might not happen. It would depend on the pressure of public opinion.

Trump was probably the first President in a century to lose money while serving. As you can see form the video, Clinton was the biggest fraudster, receiving most of his money from China. If you recall, Clinton was the one who pushed the WTO to accept China as a member even though it didn't meet the standards, and he received most of his campaign funds from China through a Chinese businessman in Arkansas.
And as a side, Hillary Clinton kept complaining about being totally broke when Bill and she left the White House.
When President Trump was in office, they tried to impeach him to remove him from office and stop him from running again. When that didn’t work, they rigged the 2020 election and put Biden in as an illegitimate president. Now, Trump is running again for president in 2024, and if he knows that they will just rig the election again in November, there is no reason for him to even try to run again. So…… maybe they did catch what actually happened in the 2020 election, and are in the process of arresting people and preventing this from happening again in 2024. Now, what they are doing is throwing all of the ridiculous lawsuits, civil and criminal, at Trump, in an effort to stop him from running. They did not do this before the 2020 election, even though all of these charges are from many years ago, and Trump could have faced the same charges long before now. Therefore, I think that it is possible that the Trump people have done something that will stop (or at least limit) the election corruption this year, and that is why they are so desperately trying to find some other way to stop Trump from running still, because they know that this time he is going to win.
Added to that, I do believe that if there is even a hint of impropriety at the polls this next election and Trump loses, the Dems just “thought” that the Jan.6 debacle was an insurrection. That said, the left wing elites in Washington, D.C. have been trying to create a civil war in this country and messing with the election could very well be the last ditch effort to bring it about. We’ll see.
I believe there is a coalition of Trump supporters that have been formed to monitor election practices. I don't know if it will remedy places like New York and Philadelphia, but it may help in some of the more honest places.
A few republicans tried to impeach our elections officer and whenever they tried to introduce it to the floor, they were put off, told to bring it up as item 12, whatever. There never was time for and item 12 It was horrifying to know that this is going on in Wisconsin. They had actual evidence of 2020 election tampering here but our AG did not pursue it. I truly believe Trump won but somehow even state's reps are bought and paid for. I fought to have election integrity brought to the fore. I think two bill were vetoed by the governor. Then I was told to 'settle down' a referendum was to be placed on the 2020 ballot. It wasn't.
Nothing is gonna help Atlanta. No doubt the plumbing will mysteriously spring a leak again whilst the votes are being tabulated.
