Beth, guess I should practice what I preach, huh? But I do want to thank you for the compliment of you thinking I have the ability to type and spell all that out vision is bad and so is my mental capacity these days.. I manage although I do like short cuts whenever possible. Then I get frustrated and make it even worse..

May be able to use it in the fall this year. I think summer will be too soon for it to breakdown. Today weather looks like rain so I'm in the house.

You may have read my posts on how to grow in the heat of summer. I used to live in a hot climate (south Georgia) and everyone told me that you couldn't grow much in the heat of summer. I found a way to do it but it takes a little work.

 

We are slowly getting things set up for our raised beds and container gardening. I think I may have been overly enthusiastic when purchasing the Earth Boxes and City Pickers containers. Some of those will likely remain in the garden shed this season unless one of the kids wants to try them.

We bought some new trellises and some tomato cages; I'm going to try planting some tomatoes in an old flowerbed close to the back fence. I hate planting back there because it's a ways to drag the hose for watering, but we'll see what happens. The raccoons will love that area as it's farthest from the house.

 

I’m going to get me a raised bed planter to put on my deck to plant some herbs in. I found this one at a local Big Box store. I think I am going to like it. It will be convenient to get to, plus I won’t have to bend over to cut the herbs, ha-ha.

I'm wearing down on gardening, sounds good in my head then when I think of putting it into action, my grt up snf go has got up and went.
I still get some of it done, like planting potato eyes. I had to double dig for that, then Jake covered, he usually does most of the work though.

 

I'm the same way, Marie. I get all enthused about it but when it's time to do the work I seem to poop out. I just can't run with the big dogs anymore.

 

Well Beth guess if we get half of what we want done that's a win for us, I see you did a great job on those plants.And just maybe I can save a few more trees from vines.And Jake can keep our little garden going.

 

The Aerogardens are easy to deal with, plus they are inside where it's climate controlled. Digging weeds outside when it's 100 degrees puts a damper on my gardening goals.

 

We may give them a try this spring. They look interesting and bountiful.

 

Not particularly bountiful but fun as a hobby. They are quite small and plants have to be dwarf or small size to stay under the lights. It's a good way to keep fresh herbs on the kitchen countertop, though!
