I never change my clocks anymore being retired. What's hard to get used to now is what time certain TV shows are on anymore.
I only have antenna TV. The shows that air (and their times) in my region seem to cycle through seasonally.
I just changed the time on my pain-in-the-butt weather station. I keep this on my bedroom wall so I can monitor the temp in my living room when using the wood stove. You change the clock by stepping through every single setting from the beginning, and the button that Advances does not always work. The instructions are so goofy on doing the settings that I made a Settings Cheat Sheet and posted a pic of it on the Amazon Comments for others to use. Just to rub my nose in it, the thing is supposed to have an Atomic Clock that automatically changes the clock when DST rolls around...but it doesn't. I've already put painter's tape over the readings that I don't use. Maybe I should do the same thing with the clock display since I already have a bedroom clock and not even mess with changing it.
The weather station I use for the greenhouse changes fine by itself, but the remote thermometer I use for outside temps doesn't. It is an older unit that doesn't even have Alaska time on it. I usually have to push the reset button on that unit and eventually it sets the time on it's own but it is always on Pacific time anyway.
You should re-scan your TV occasionally. I just did mine and I've got new stations now for a total of 42.
My original remote is broken, I can't find a replacement and the universal does not scan. Maybe I should write a country western song about it.
Tonight we “spring ahead” for Daylight Savings Time, and both Bobby and I look forward to the time change each year. I am just reading that Senator Marco Rubio is introducing legislation to keep us on DST year around. This has happened at least once before and Pelosi refused to let the House even vote on the resolution. I know that our Senator Tuberville is in favor of the permanent change, so if it passes the Senate again, possibly it will go through the House now, too, with Pelosi no longer the Speaker of the House.
I wish the clocks would stay on one or the other. I know you prefer DST but up here with the long days and long nights, it doesn't really matter except around equinox.
I would like to turn the clock back three years and post Hal Pollner's Post #1 of this thread, in case you haven't read it. R.I.P. Hal! 03/14/2021 "Yesterday I turned all our clocks BACK 23 hours." "I always GAIN an hour of sleep when we go into DST by setting our clocks and then going to bed 2 hours earlier than usual." "I also gain an hour when we go back to Standard Time in the fall." Harold
Change the clocks and screw up your sleep twice a year. Once again, I won't. I'll leave an hour early for appointments if any.
It was almost a month before I changed all the clocks in the fall, my mind and body never did get over to DST so I am real pleased that the rest of the world has joined me in real time!
