Also, please don't call me "dear" Chrissy. It's offensive unless from my friends.

Propositional truth is something that someone has totally adopted as their own personal truth "sometimes" disregarding the integrity of the whole truth. Now, I do say "sometimes" for there are times when someone may adopt an empirical truth but propose it as a simple statement.
Example: Someone can indeed say the world is at peace and in his world it may well be. But, the truth is that it is not the whole world that is at peace but his part of the world.
    Empirical truth: 1+1=2.

In the case of the topic of evolution we have the statement: Evolution is a FACT. That is a propositional truth which the author deems as his personal truth but without the observation that there are 2 parts to the word EVOLUTION. Vertical and Horizontal.
Which part does he believe? One or both for one is factually in error while the other is factually true.

To my mind the only place to be with regard to Evolution, Religion, Creationism and tomorrows weather is to be agnostic, in other words I simply don't know.

Ya know Terry, there are times when I just simply like you and then there are times like this when I can state without hesitation that I like you a lot.

Well-spoken (as always), @Terry Page ! We only know the things we have learned, or been told. Finding out what the actual truth is, is something that I enjoy searching for. I am open-minded enough to look at new ideas, and when I see something that looks like it is possible, then I investigate it. I don't expect to learn everything; but I enjoy the search.
I actually didn't start this thread to discuss evolution vs. creation. @Ina I. Wonder had asked me in the hot seat thread about what I thought about dinosaurs possibly still existing.
I have looked at possible evidence for this being true; but because non-religious people usually only consider evidence that supports the evolution theory, I had to use a pro-religious video to show that there is evidence for some of the creatures we have believed to be extinct to have existed until fairly recently, timewise speaking.

Some of the interesting artifacts that shows this possibility are found in old carvings. Both Central and South America have artifacts with carvings or paintings of what totally looks like a dinosaur. There is no way that they could have just imagined such a creature, unless they had actually seen one alive.
The Temple at Angor Wat has depictions of animals, including some that look like a dinosaur. In Texas, there is a whole area where they have found dinosaur tracks, and some have human tracks walking alongside of, or even in the dinosaur footprints.
Since these things actually exist, and are factual; it lends to the idea that there could be a truth to some of the stories and legends of things like the Yeti, Loch Ness Monster, and the Thunderbird of Indian lore.

A new act? I'll have to consider what might possibly be new. I have lectured, (I guess in your terminology it would be stand up) in nearly all of the United States and in 17 countries on a variety of subjects but primarily in the arena of contemporary religious belief systems.
Evolution and the possibility of dinasaurs has been a subject of some banter in regard to my major themes but not necessarily the total theme itself so perhaps my approach might seem to be that of a mystery but definitely not intended.

I have never tried a cloak and dagger approach to any of my lectures or writing for that would be like giving up only small tokens of information in the hopes that someone might come up with an eventual answer.
Perhaps I might do just that for some of the group's I deal with have IQ's of well over 130 and might like a little intellectual monkey wrench thrown in just for flavor. Thank you and God Bless.

@Yvonne Smith , I looked up Glen Rose, TX, and it is 267 miles from me. It's just SW of Fort Worth, Tx. My grandson Robert and I want to go see the place when my doctor says I can go. Even us big kids like dinosaurs. Do you know if there is a website concerning these foot prints? Or what key words would you enter to find information on this place?

Duh ... Maybe Glen Rose dinosaurs? My BP is staying in the 85/63 range and my brain is useing that as an excuse not to function too swiftly. Seems to me that God/Creator and evolution go hand in hand somewhere along the way.

It did get a bit off topic for a spell and for that I give my humble appology for being a part of that tilt.

Now for the dinasaur topic at hand. Certainly there is evidence that provides some interesting cases in which scientists are somewhat confused to say the very least.
Much of the earth has yet much to be revealed and new undersea discoveries are being produced every day, some of which is much to the dismay of those who proclaim that ALL dinasaurs died off some 35 million years ago.
Carbon 13 and 14 have been found to be erroneous in some cases because of the examiners or even the technique in itself is the causation of an error in age.

Certainly, when observance is the major evidence toward verification then that evidence should be examined much further instead of disregarded as heresay.

I would love to go to Glen Rose and see the footprints (dinosaur and human), too, @Ina I. Wonder . Maybe when Robin is not so busy with her job, and she can take a small vacation, she and I can go there and meet you and your grandson, Robert, and we can all explore the whole thing together?
Robin always wanted to become an archeologist, and that is why she is always out looking for fossils.

If you get to go before then, be sure to take pictures, and then come back and tell us all about your trip !
Here is the website where I found the dinosaur evidence video, and it is from the museum at Glen Rose.

I don't feel as if I have to believe in a young earth in order to believe that the Bible is accurate, so this isn't a major issue for me. If the young earth theory were proven to be wrong to my satisfaction, that wouldn't shake my faith in the accuracy of the Bible. The fact that the sun and the moon weren't created until the fourth day of creation allows me to consider that perhaps we weren't talking about 24-hour days. Plus, it seems clear that time means something entirely different to God than to the rest of us. So while I do not believe that the young earth theory has been disproven, given the huge discrepancies of carbon dating, if it were to be proven, that wouldn't change anything significantly for me.

The science behind carbon dating is based on an arbitrary premise. It might be useful in comparing one object to another but it has little validity as far as determining the age of something. Unless you insist that evolution is the answer to the beginnings of everything, I don't see a lot of incompatibility with evolution theory and Bible fact, though.
