I got The Thin Red Line on DVD from the library and saw abut 2/3 of it and will quit watching. At 3 hours long, it seems like a producer/director with a big ego did not want to cut anything because it was gold, so there are scenes that don't contribute anything to the story and the movie drags on.
I did the same thing with the 1988 movie Traffic. Although it did have some interesting warnings that has come true about our society today and its lack of parenting, I just fast forwarded it to the end after first hour or so.
On to the Disney+ channel's Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Yeah, yeah, it's a family movie. It's a series and after the first episode I like it. I also watched 2022 Marlowe with Liam Neeson. I had to see him as another character. I kept falling asleep on it. Being honest it wasn't Neeson. I am going to watch it again.
We've been rewatching the Miami Vice DVDs we bought some years ago. Some episodes are great; others less so. Anyway ... LOL
Just watched a movie, too much cussing so don't recommend it, a true story about drug addiction. Looking for a movie while I wonder why I sat through that one.
On my birthday I did a little reminiscing with my 17 year old grandson and we watched Ghost Rider (Nicholas Cage). I shared with him how he memorized every word of each character and all of the uggs and umphfs made when there was an altercation and he was only 3 years old. He wanted to watch it every time he visited. Of course he didn't remember it being anything but a movie he liked a lot. It was magical to him with all of the effects and action that was happening good versus evil. Of course I liked it too. Surprisingly he still enjoyed it. 'It's still a good movie, Grandma.'
This could have been a good movie based on a true story, if not for all the filthy language and using Gods name in vain so often. The Holly-hoods had to mess it up, we paid $6 for it on YT and didn't watch it , the trailer is deceiving, leaves out cussing and blasphemy. Not worth the sickness of libs.
I watched The Evening Sun with Hal Holbrook last night on Tubi. It's an interesting movie about a man who escapes from a rest home to go back to his farm The night before that I watched The Long Hot Summer with Cybil Shepherd and Don Johnson. It was an interesting movie too, also free on Tubi.
This movie supposedly takes place in 2500, but I think we are ahead of schedule. If you go to minute 40, you can see the Biden Administration, but the President is much too energetic to be Biden. He must have a stand-in. https://rumble.com/v4evmnx-idiocracy-full-movie.html
