He is pretty good. I avoid the ones saving animals from drowning etc. Too many of them came up after I clicked on a couple and I worry they are staged.
They're not dogs but I miss my ponies. We could get three to climb into my capped pick up truck for birthdays etc.
Mary, I fear some dogs are treated badly, starved injured, to make money off people thinking they are helping a real cause. Sadly, in actuality they are contributing to more horrible abuse.
PETA got caught euthanizing rescued animals (then stuffing the bodies in freezers) because they did not want to spend the money on food.
We had an experience with a sister and brother Siberian Huskies from a private Husky Shelter, that completely scared both wife and I. IOW, two different dog fights they got into with each other. We ended up taking both back to the Shelter and told each other, "never again go to a Shelter".
Cody all our dogs my whole life has been mutts but most were adopted at shelter or private owners. But none were as abused or mistreated like these two were. On a 6ft chain in yard, beat if they barked, and starved to the point of needing g blood transfusion. male dog. Both were just skin and bones. I never has a dog I couldn't train although some easier. I know there are dogs who need to be put down but so far never had one of those.
Siberian huskies are beautiful but take some special handling. I would never adopt two at once. I had a malmute/german shepherd cross. Was HE a handful. I didn't take him back to the shelter because I knew NO ONE would want him. To prove to him I was alpha bitch I had to flip him onto his back, grab him by the throat and pin him till he cried uncle! He was terrible until his last years. I think we finally wore him out.
I had one I had to body slam too, but she ended up being the best dog I ever had, she was a golden retriever greyhound mix, born to race. She was a large dog, full of energy. She lived to be 19 and that's OLD for a large dog. Too old for that now. These two large and medium are enough, too much at times.
Only one and he ended up coming for dinner after numerous attacks. Drew blood from hubby (he does not have a cane) who said he would not go to the farm again if that rooster was still alive.
