If you have an Amazon credit card, Amazon will use it any time they get a chance. It makes it even easier to follow your purchases and yet another way for the government to get into your buying habits.

I have a small visa account from my credit union and even that reports to the powers that be.

But, as was demonstrated in the January 6 debacle, the big banks were who the FBI went after. Going to a bunch of small credit unions, who may not cooperate without a warrant, is not productive, but going to Chase, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo will net the most records for the least effort and the banks just give up your records without the warrant while the credit unions may actually follow the laws and regulations and protect your privacy to the extent they can.

I use my Amazon Chase card because of the cash back; last year over $600 which is nothing to sneeze at. If they want to report my toilet paper, detergent, and various trinket purchases to the government then have at it.

Unless they decide you are buying more than your "fair share" of whatever you are purchasing. They also track locations, i.e., where you are when you buy it, but with Amazon that won't matter.

Who on earth would decide I am buying more than my fair share? Chase bank?? I don't really think they care as long as I pay the bill. Sorry, but I don't see a conspiracy behind every shrub.

The government has mentioned it, but I was mostly joking.
