I've not been able to log in here for past two hours, but was successful just now at least. Past two hours I kept getting as follows: Resource Limit Is Reached The website is temporarily unable to service your request as it exceeded resource limit. Please try again later.
I've been getting that message, and have been able to get to where I've wanted to go by refreshing my browser (sometimes several times.) I stay logged in so can't speak to that other issue. It's horribly frustrating.
When I get frustrated by these type issues I soothe myself by saying "I am connecting to the Whole World." That makes waiting for a few seconds or minutes more bearable. Also, have a crappy old computer anyway so I'm just glad to be anywhere on the net ;-)
There are websites (that I cannot find right now) that track the server "hops" our data goes through between us and the website we're on. It's crazy to see the circuitous path the data takes. We do not connect directly from Point A to Point B. You could be on the website of a local business, and go through 5-6 servers spread all over the country because the routing software has instantly determined the fastest communication path. So your "Whole World" observation is more literal than we realize. And I agree. Life demands perspective...at least, a sane life does.
It is not just happening here. I just left my email server which has that reloading circle going round and round which is more annoying than that notice here is to me.
I don't grasp all the technical stuff; I am a dunce in that regard. Anyway just for information's sake, it took me only 7 tries to successfully log on just now, so maybe a total of 15 minutes. I visit a total of four forums generally. Right now, this forum is the only one that I am personally having any log in issues with. In the past though and other forums, I have had some issues similar to this, but they did not say the THE LIMIT RESOURCE IS REACHED.
It has, for sure, been a problem for the last week. If it is something to do with the people where this forum is hosted through, maybe @Ken Anderson needs to make them aware of the problem, if it because of the forum server and not some kind of DDOS attacks. This seems to be the only place that Bobby and I are having trouble, and I remember that the owners of the forum server (or whatever it is called) had some kind of an issue a couple of years ago, that totally shut the forum down for several days until Ken got them to fix the problem.
Sometimes servers need to be restarted to "clean out the memory" and do a fresh operating system load, the same as our personal computers. Sometimes databases need to be "reindexed" so it can find records and posts quickly (although general Searches on individual words here seems to be fast enough.) I'm surprised that servers don't need to be restarted more often...but I'm not a network guy. I never wanted to be one. People only know you exist when something goes wrong. ps: Things seem to be OK for me so far today. That stinks that @Janine Coral is still experiencing issues.
Ok, I have a new one. I went to email to do my daily spam cleaning. I clicked on one email and found it sooooo stupid I just opened what HAD BEEN the email pull down for spam and as I clicked what had been 'file as spam' was 'file as not, spam' ???? So, only one email went to 'the not spam file' but I tried again and the pull down again read not spam, instead of spam. So I had to go and manually deposit all the crap into my spam folder instead of using the pull down. I usually click on allllll the spam without opening and flush them all at once. ???? But then the original plain old spam listing was back on the pull down. Twilight Zone music. What if spies see us all as conservatives with views they don't want shared on line and followed me home? Come on! file as not spam????
Spectrum. They are doing some replacement work here but filing something under 'not spam' sounds like a joke.
I have Yahoo, and they always put a friend's emails in some special folder even though he is in my Contacts List. He likes to send pics, videos and jokes to everyone he's ever met. Yahoo always asks if it's valid. I always say Yes, and Yahoo always tags his emails for my review. Maybe your Not Spam stuff has a similar number of Addressees.
Well, we have been customers of Spectrum for years and this is the first I've ever seen. But it has stopped after a few times of my going around that weird offering. I have just got to make sure not to click out of habit without checking what I click on. Like when Amazon switched my default credit back to theirs without my OK.
No doubt. And the bastards color the button they want us to click on green. Regarding our own issue here...things seem to have gotten better. I had a couple of fleeting issues late last night, but for the most part, things are normal.
