    Good evening to all-
On all 34 counts- that vile piece of garbage is now a recognized felon. Now that's something for all of us to be proud of- a former president is now a felon..

I am not usually happy to see someone being prosecuted in court, but if ever there was an individual who deserved to be prosecuted and found guilty it is that former occupant of the White House.

We can only hope his other many felony charges will be judged and found the same way.

tRump is a vile bit of slime, and he has earned his convictions and hopefully his prison time.

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

Trump is not the first. Bill Clinton is also a felon after his perjury conviction. Big deal.

    Good evening to all-
    Ms. Martin-
Nope. I got it just the way I wanted and I got it just right. The former occupant was not "persecuted" in any way. His sins and crimes just caught up with him.
And even though I appreciate your show of concern, I don't need you to correct me in any way.

And yes, this case IS over. The appeals will go on and on and on- that's the way rich people avoid going to jail like common people- but this trial is over. tRump IS a felon.

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

I will admit my first reaction was one of ecstasy. Hey, let me have one moment in the sun before we get back to the real business of November 5th. Let's fasten our seatbelts everyone, gonna be a bumpy ride.

To my fellow Americans, of all political stripes............Can't help but love you. I am a human being first, but then I am an American, and usually proud of it. We will survive no matter what.

    Good morning to all-
    Mr. Wilson-
"marsh/mARSH" however you choose to type it- is no insult to me. Marshes and swamps are beautiful natural, necessary places in our world ."Drain the swamp" is the sort of ignorant slogan that would appeal to a certain low intellect level.
The political scene in Washington is not a Swamp. It is a toilet, and the biggest piece of waste floating around in that particular toilet was found guilty yesterday and is now a felon.

Good; I love it when things backfire on the liberals. Hopefully we'll see more hysterics in November like election night 2016.

Biden has already acknowledged that Trump will still run for President in November. This is what The Washington Post stated about our Constitution concerning a felon becoming President of the United States:

Can a presidential candidate run for office while they sit behind bars?

That question is as timely as ever as former President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election, was found guilty on all counts Thursday in connection with a hush money payment to adult film actor Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential campaign.

    The answer is, simply, yes.

A convicted or imprisoned felon can not only campaign for president and other federal offices, but also be elected.

Can a felon run for president?
The U.S. Constitution does not explicitly prohibit a presidential candidate from running for office while under indictment, or even while serving time behind bars.

Eligibility requirements for presidents state only that they must be at least 35 years old, be a natural-born citizen of the United States, and have been a resident of the country for at least 14 years.

    Read this article this AM:
Trump supporters call for riots and violent retribution after verdict

I'm not including the article, because it pretty rash, however there was a "tussle" outside the courthouse where the police had to get involved. IOW, Trump has some very, very serious supporters. Do I want Biden reelected? Definitely NO! Trump isn't the only former President or elected official that has gotten into trouble. Felon or not, I still think he should serve a second term and straighten out things that Biden has messed up. The main thing is, seal the damn borders!

Now, this is only my opinion and I don't need to be bashed for it, but, most likely, that could/will happen. Oh well, I'm learning very fast, from other threads/replies I've done, to simply handle it (hopefully).

I'm not American but if I were, I would vote for Trump. He needs a chance to finish off what he started. What worries me is that those who pull the strings have a way of getting rid of those who don't dance to their tune. The last time he stood, he was treated as a joke and no-one seriously thought he would end up as president. Next time, they might make certain he doesn't.

And it actually did happen one time.

One Eugene V. Debs ran a campaign as a Socialist from federal prison in 1920. He was found guilty of sedition for obstructing the draft and military recruitment during WWI.

Now I'm not saying Trump is guilty of sedition. As far as I'm concerned he's not guilty of anything. The Trump haters are the ones saying he is guilty and a felon.

I'm just giving an example where a convicted felon did run for President.
