Well I’ve just about broken the bank today , I couldn’t make up my mind if I really wanted or needed another pair of black shoes but bought them anyway seeming they are a good price , I was looking for a pair of stable white shoes , when I say stable because of my lack of medical treatment when I fractured my leg / ankle ( it’s called a spiral fracture ) 3 + years ago …I need a good quality shoe so I don’t get pain / risk of twisting my ankle I. stick with this brand as I know it’s supportive/ they have a stiff lining in heel area to support my ankle / leg, they also have good removable arch support https://www.davidjones.com/Product/...fhpMfuKpqBvi738L8EhoCmlYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds Enough waffling …this is what a bought today Both exactly the same …one white / grey ….other black Normal price $259. 95 EACH … I paid $175.00 Each..free postage
My Grand mother looked high and low for good 'sensible shoes'. Although yours are not quite her style, they are mine. I have a favorite pair that need replacing with a good base and zipper instead of laces. They are so old, I can't read a name brand on them to replace them.
Mine are Ecco ,brand I only brand I buy …..when they area on special I simply won’t pay full price , I wait till they are on special I’ve bought Sketchers and binned them cause they almost tripped me up that tend to drag/ catch even on tiled areas, I came close to tripping on carpeted areas in my home several times while wearing the sketchers ( I’ve seen reviews saying the same ,so it can’t be all my fault ) .I’ve had some of my Ecco shoes for about 10 years and they don’t look like wearing out. Even tho I’m pretty good on my feet I don’t want to have falls so I buy the best I can afford the keep stable. I used to have painful feet if I was in my feet to long ( think it was telling me I needed good shoes with arch support ) I pay for them in 4 payments via pay pal ….so it’s not as hard as paying / having to find the money in one payment @Mary Stetler
I had the same issues with sketchers. I think they are quite heavy or something although I was tempted to by their 'slip ins' because I have made some of my shoes 'slip ins and outs'
As a follow-up to the food that we ordered.I must say everything we tasted we liked. The Apple Pie and the Beignets were surprisingly very good. The hot dogs reminded me and my wife of the ones we had growing up, full and good tasting. We usually buy Nathan's or sabretts, These were Comparable. The hamburgers were frozen and 1/3 of a pound, my grandkids and their dad went back for seconds. The only thing I thought might be a little better would be fresh ground. I don't do Quiche, I tried small piece and went back for more. My wife said it was one of the best Quiche Lorraine she's had. We still have a few more items to try so far everything Has been acceptable.
They're still shooting Fireworks off Where I live. Tia my dog is terrified of them.So I purchased the below item hopefully it helps. Not my purchase, so @Bobby Cole will have to show you a photo of the amazon ad; but he ordered some cooling neck scarves. (I do not even know what they are properly called ? ) Anyway, the material soaks up water, so you get it wet and wring it out and then put it around your neck, and that little rascal does a great job of keeping your neck nice and cool. ( you might like this, @Beth Gallagher, with no AC right now) Before, we had some of those little sponge bandanas that had kind of a gel inside, and you soaked them overnight in the fridge and put them on in the morning, and they were great for going outside in hot weather. These neck scarves are just as good, and so easy to use. We are both really happy with them, and now going around looking like Mohammed Ali.
I'm surprised that those neck things work in areas of high humidity. I bought some headbands recently because the sweat pours into my eyes when I'm outside working. They're OK, but once they're soaked, the sweat starts rolling again.
I was a little reluctant to buy them but I figured, what the heck. For the price, even if the towels are duds, we’ll have some extra nice rags. But, as it turned out, I am Extremely pleased with the results. The webbed fabric is the exact same stuff that many of my workout shirts are made of making them extra absorbent and the backing is well, whatever it does works. The ones I ordered are the 10”x46” (or maybe 45 when dry) and yeah, they’re a little long but out here on the porch, I just wet it down, wring it out and throw it over my head and let the sides hang down on my bare shoulders. Cool…literally! And do note: I guess it’s because of the humidity that the towel doesn’t dry for a couple of hours. I think if one wet them down and threw them in the fridge for a couple of hours, it wouldn’t be any different than not.
I just got a container that keeps insulin & medications cold for hours. So far, I'm really impressed with it. After 6 hours in an 86-degree room, the inside of the container is 34 degrees. I got the one with the temp reading display on the lid. Update: It has now been 10 hours. My kitchen temp is now 90 degrees & the insulin vial is now 35 degrees. Incredible! https://disoncare.com/products/316
If anyone needs/wants a label maker, this one is on sale today. It is usually over $100, but now is $23 plus an additional 30% discount. We just got one, and it was around $16+change with the discount. It comes in several colors. I am always trying to label jars of stuff with the felt tip marker, and I think this will be a better option. Apparently, Bobby thinks so , too; because when I sent him the sales link, he bought one for us !
Sold!!! Speaking of labels...I've taken to writing the expiry date of stuff on the face of cans & boxes in large Sharpie print, and to putting labels on Tupperware containers of leftovers so I don't have to wonder how old the food is. I use dissolvable labels for the leftovers. I don't know what they're made of, but they dissolve under cold running water and in the dishwasher. Now I don't throw away leftovers because I'm not sure if they're still good (I don't take chances), and having the Use By Date & Day of Week ("Fri July 12") right in front of me every time I open the fridge reminds me to eat the stuff. I've had one roll for 4 years and the adhesive is still fresh. eta: You all sold me on that 4 pak of cooling towels, too.
