He's endorsed Kamala Harris to replace him. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bi...ite-house-he-drops-out-his-2024-rematch-trump
Statement: "I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties for President for the remainder of my term." https://x.com/JoeBiden/status/1815080881981190320
Good afternoon to all- It was just a matter of time. Biden received a lot of very bad advice from his campaign staff, and it was obvious he was not up to the task. He must be recognized for doing a good job in an almost impossible situation. And now it's just a simple matter of coming up with a candidate who can garner enough votes to send tRump back to his golden place and servants and worshippers who want to kneel down to him and kiss his ring. I don't care much who is chosen to run against tRump- I just want tRump sent home- AGAIN. you all be safe and keep well- Ed
I believe it is now official that Biden is out of the race.Harris will be the runner. Hang on boys , we may be in for a rough ride
It's going to get really interesting now. Biden endorsed Kamala but it will/may be an open convention. If it is will she be the candidate? If she is the candidate who will be the VP candidate? A New York Times writer had floated Hillary for president in an article this weekend. Anyone have any predictions about anything.
"What a surprise," said no one, ever. I'm just disappointed that Kamala won't get to debate JD. I wonder if she will debate Trump. Hopefully, her successful stint as "Border Czar" will play heavily in campaign ads.
I heard on the radio that Biden has dropped out of the Presidential race. No decision has been made on the Presidency itself. True?
That is what they are reporting in all the news media. (There is a thread for this, too.) It is interesting that the announcement was not written on regular White House stationary, did not have what looks like Biden’s real signature, or the presidential seal, and none of his people knew it had happened until they read the news in the Biden Twitter post. In the letter, it does not mention his support for Kamala; but the Twitter post, which came out immediately afterwards, said that he gives his full support to Harris. The announcement says he will discuss it later this week. No one has actually seen Biden, and people are wondering if he even knows, or if this was a coup by his own party to remove him from the campaign, and why he didn’t announce something of this magnitude in person. Everyone knows that Biden does not make his Twitter posts himself; so it is not out of the realm of possibility that this was forced on Biden.
Here's a article on his getting out of the race:https://thenationaldesk.com/news/nation-world/president-biden-bows-out-of-2024-election#. And apparently he does endorse Harris.
How about this for an interesting development. Good old Joe Manchin is thinking about re-registering as a Democrat to run for President: https://thenationaldesk.com/news/am...democrat-to-seek-the-presidential-nomination# And former Democrat candidate Marianne Williamson is calling for an open convention: https://thenationaldesk.com/news/am...e-biden-kamala-harris-2024-election-politics# It's going to be one interesting week come August 19.
