I just saw a commercial where the evil Trump will end the ACA taking health insurance away from FAMILIES. My youngest daughter can't afford the premiums with the deductables. Old mom has to figure stuff out.
I have stepped away from the "fog of politics" @Mary Stetler so I know nothing about that. I have said before that I think a solution could be to have hospitals and clinics open Medicare/Medicaid clinics/urgent care centers to give those of us with those programs an option. One of the reasons--the primary reason--that American healthcare is so screwed up and so expensive is the Medicare reimbursement scheme. Medical facilities cannot support themselves with Medicare reimbursement, so they have to charge everyone else more. I can't really outline it here as it is quite complicated. If the ACA went away, private single and partnership practices could come back. That would in all likelihood make healthcare more accessible for everyone and cheaper as well. Insurance rates provided by employers went way up in cost due to the ACA and benefits dropped significantly. One of the things the ACA did was to impose burdensome regulations on medical practices. That was one of the aims of the program that was marketed as making healthcare cheaper. It actually made it more expensive and less efficient for most patients. You have seen the complaints posted here and in other places. The purpose was two-fold; first, they wanted to reduce the number of medical practices so the government could more closely surveil them and track patients; second, they eventually hope to make people so unhappy that they will give up and beg the government to take over healthcare and "save" it when, in fact, government interference is what ruined it. I do not intend that the Medicare/Medicaid clinics be mandatory or the only option, but it could offer an option that perhaps could even be copay-free for those without private insurance or Medicare C plans. It could also get many Medicaid patients out of the ERs, so those facilities could be streamlined and not clogged with non-emergent patients.
Applebee's one of the chain restaurants in my area sent me a promotion by email buy one hamburger get one 50% off. So I took advantage of it by ordering on line six total hamburgers thinking I would get 50% off on three, instead they took the 50% off on one hamburger. I made the mistake of not reviewing the final check and paid for the order before I realized the mistake. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager and they said the promotion was for one hamburger, I & my daughter reviewed the promotion ad and did not see anything that said there was a limit. I canceled the order and asked for a refund. About an hour later an email to leave feedback, I put extremely unsatisfied filled out all the forms and they had a box that I checked, giving them permission to call me I checked it. Hopefully they'll call I would just like to tell somebody that this is false advertising. The manager did say they would refund my money.
They probably meant it for one 'special' per customer but whoever did the promotion screwed up. It is good you let them know. They can fix the email. We have Culvers here and they do the promotions very well with limits and end dates etc. I am finding not such good deals lately but the food is still really good. Too bad we can't go much anymore.
Probably was an error I agree because the tally was calculated automatically. We don't have any locally, But my family raved about Culver's While on vacation. My daughter drove from Long Island to Mount Rushmore and made a lot of stops in between She took my wife and my 3 grandkids. I didn't go.My walking is not that great these days plus I stayed home to take care of the dogs.
My rant is this : sick and tried of - Jenifer Lopez name and anything she says or does, Taylor Swift and and her entourage of people - who all appear to worship versus admire her Another thing- put your damn clothes on, all female celebrities flaunt their upper half as some badge of honor- I got boobs to and they may be old but they are real . Kelly Rippa and her husband who continue to make the news about their discussion of their sex life on public TV .. WT..geez, why should anyone else give a hoot. in-fact this seems to be a trend among several celebrities now .... in-fact this seems to be a trend among several celebrities now. I have more ranting to do but duty calls else where
I agree with What you're saying, however.I don't travel in that arena. So I never hear this stuff and i'm happy to stay away from it. What really bothers me Is the celebrities that try to talk politics To their followers to vote for They're candidate.
Funny you should mention that. I did not know Culvers for a long time and went to the horse Fair in Madison one year in a car pool of friends. On the way home, we pulled off 151 to get something to eat. The driver saw the marquis that read Butterburgers and she turned in so hard and fast I thought we would go up onto two wheels in a mini van! That was maybe 25 years ago.
Just a thought, we could all go topless as mature ladies and show them what they will look like after they can't lift their skin anymore. But where I can get applause with each set of jumping jacks, the melons in their sacks will be painful. I keep thinking of a set of pics I saw of what tattoos look like with age.
I was in the mood for decent hamburger last night, Applebee's makes one. After the problem with Applebee, We decided to go to a diner we haven't tried in a few years, I had my hamburger and it was very good. My daughter ordered pumpkin pancakes they were overcooked, My wife had a BLT The bacon was burned and was the color of charcoal. My grandkids meals were fine excet for the bacon they had cheese and bacon burgers. They removed the bacon and ate the rest. My daughter said Monday night's probably the regular chef night off.
Since Megan Kelly doesn't have an account here, and the two of you apparently agree with each other, I'm posting this on her behalf: ‘F-You’: Megyn Kelly Blasts Taylor Swift Endorsement Of Kamala “Can I tell you something? I criticized her about six months ago, when she went to a fundraiser to raise money for Hamas, supposedly Palestinians, but the group that was doing the fundraising was known to funnel the money to Hamas,” she added. “And I said, ‘People should boycott her.’ It was an offhanded comment. People went nuts. Some lunatic dropped a note in my personal mailbox outside my house begging me not to boycott Taylor Swift, as though I have that power.” “This is disgusting,” Kelly continued. “If she wants to vote Harris/Walz, she can do it all she wants, but to say the reason she’s doing it is because of Tim Walz stance on LGBTQ. F you, Taylor Swift. And F all of the people who want to see these children have body parts chopped off and watch them sterilized under the age of consent, and then will ride off to their multi-gazillion dollar mansions never to think of them again … This is unbelievable.”
