Does anyone else notice all the money/handouts Harris is promising??? Good grief, how will we pay for all this? Don't the democrat voters get tired of higher taxes for giveaways, or a national debt that is soaring to impossible heights? Un-freakin-believable, but we gotta BUY those votes.
I think Vance did pretty darned well, and the moderators weren't nearly as bad as the ABC moderators. I thought it was interesting when, right after insisting that we needed a federal pro-abortion policy, Walz then went on to talk about what they have done for abortion rights in Minnesota. Yeah Tim, that's how state's rights work.
My attempt to answer your question ...... "Don't the democrat voters get tired of higher taxes for giveaways, or a national debt that is soaring to impossible heights? " IMO, no they do not , because so many of them are actually on the receiving end of the giveaways , and they run their own 'budgets' in the same manner as the fed/gov. which is spend, spend, spend. Then let/have the conservatives/republicans pay for it.
I'm going to watch it after noon as I have a lot to do this a.m. Thanks for your post ken as I feel a little more inclined to watch it today, denise
I missed the first part of the debate and got interrupted a couple of times but what I actually saw of Vance was very good. I am convinced he could do the job of president should he have to. Tim Walz on the other hand is a wreck. It's never a good look when debate moderators confront you with another big lie during your only debate. I give the mods credit for doing that but they did not keep their promise not to fact check. And they turned off Vance's mic when he challenged them. Unfortunately the MSM lost the debate, along with their boy Walz, and should be given a big fat zero for their lack of effort. Walz was very nervous. Toward the end of the debate he was shifting from foot to foot while Vance was speaking. He looked like he either needed to pee or he was about to tell a lie. I think those of us with children and grandchildren recognize that look coupled with the shifting feet. Btw, I was getting resource messages here again earlier this morning.
I agree because I am on the receiving end of some "extra help" and I absolutely hate it. It's not fair imo for me to be living so high off the hog when I didn't work enough to have better SS coming in. I'm a christian conservative, registered as a R. I vote Trump, or anyone like him that not only makes jobs, and making America strong "again". I guess I feel I need to defend myself in saying that jobs were hard for me to keep, not from lack of trying, but I had debilitating migraine since I was old enough to remember. I couldn't have a career, so I sought out jobs I could handle, but companies were not happy with someone missing at least a day of work every week. I didn't have regular doctors, or insurance, and I ran myself down because I wasn't like others that were such amazingly smart and holding jobs, even careers. So now, I live on a small SS income, in Section 8 housing, get free medical coverage, and free EBT/foodstamp program. If me making less money and benefits means saving America, then so be it, I know God will make a way, but moving from where I am, giving up all these things on my own decision, there isn't anything left now except homeless-ness. I hope to God no one out there is feeling sorry for me because I don't deserve it. I got to go to school, and never went hungry, I just gave up and gave into my illness, and even trying. I'm glad I've come to believe in God, and have only one true regret and that is I didn't know Him earlier in my life.
I didn’t watch the actual debate, but I watched the clips from it on X, and Vance did SO good ! Nothing flusters him, he just addresses the issue and makes his point, whatever topic they threw at him, and without a singled ruffled feather. That man is a natural debater ! If something does happen to Trump, Vance will make an excellent president, and as a VP, he is going to be a big helper for this country and for making it great again.
LOL, great pics, and yes, I've never seen JD get flustered, and he does stay on track very well I think I'll watch this sooner than I was planning. After getting to know more about him here on SOC, my first thought was yes, if something happened, and he needed to take over, I would trust him more than anyone else I heard about. Not that they were bad, but because JD is the most "together/competent" imo. I was a little concerned, but probably my lack of understanding, about some of the things he mentions in his book. But truly, actions do speak louder than words. I do feel secure about Trump picking him as his running mate.
Walz obviously took his lessons from Kamala Harris ! When she was asked about securing the border or fixing the economy, her go-to answer was “Well, I was raised in a middle-class family”. Last night, Walz was asked about the lie that he told about being in Tianamin Square when the riot and massacre happened. His answer was literally that he grew up in a small town, and rode his bike with his friends. Nothing even close to the topic . The clips of this on X are awesome, and so is the response from Tucker Carlson, Greg Gutfield, and several others, about the whole debate. Even the liberal democrats had to agree that Vance won hands down. Walz was like a kid who plays in the wading pool, and just got tossed into the ocean, and was in a complete panic and looked befuddled most of the time, as he nodded along with whatever Vance said, but had no clue how to respond. So, then he put his head down and pretended to be taking notes because he must have realized how awful he looked in the cameras.
Almost everyone I follow is saying something about the debate last night, @Denise Evans . I am not sure if this is the fox you are asking about, but The Vigilant Fox does have an awesome account of clips of the whole debate, if you follow him.
I looked and JD's and Trumps and found a lot I wanted to comment on, quote and repost Thanks so much Yvonne, I just needed to get on there and find my way around again. If I went more often, I'd learn a lot more
Even CNN was saying things like, "Walz wandered into the wrong bar tonight." CNN was upset by his fuzzy explanation of why he lied about being in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square riots. Other liberal media was upset about Walz comments about befriending school shooters. Conservative media just tore Walz apart. Nobody seemed to have anything really negative to say about Vance's performance on either side. MSNBC was upset that the moderators weren't more on Walz' side
I'm surprised they didn't twist up the truth like they usually do, IMO, what I've seen so far is Vance's answers were right on the mark, and he delivered exactly what I had hoped for
Of course these new vote-buying ploys have NOTHING TO DO with existing Federal assistance programs. They are promising $25,000 to new home buyers to help with down payments, still beating the "pay off college loans" drum, promising a comprehensive plan to build "three million more rental units and homes that are affordable" to end the national housing supply crisis (probably to house illegals), etc., etc. Attention Kamala... We CANNOT AFFORD YOUR PROMISES.
