We bought one of those 0 turn mowers, one time was about $4,000.00, and it was when my back was suffering bad from injury, so Marie rode it cutting frontage outside our property, and when she came back she looked like she had been through a dust storm, dirt all over her. We took it back and told them and they said the blades are upside down, they gave us our money back.

That's pretty funny. I got my first mower from a department store sidewalk sale for $25. The thing had been returned...there was a light mist of green under the deck. I started it up and it kept surging. I took a dime out of my pocket, leaned the carb out, and it purred like a kitten. Sold!

"Nice"; not so often that we get a deal like that. I'm still busting the vines up here, for Marie. Also found that I can drag the piles with box blade hooks, and when I get them where I want them to go, I just back over them and they release, so cool; never have to get off the tractor.

Had a pretty successful day on my tractor today, clearing a trail of debris, from Helene and Milton, up the center trail of property. When I finally stopped, later; I set up a trail camera, to get some photos of the game, hanging around here. "Loving", this tractor, and getting the hang of it; "NICE", has a lot of power, even at low speeds. I'm going to back out, one more time and finish clearing the area I worked on yesterday, lots of vines. It has lights, but I'm a little scared, to try working at night just yet. :)

I've had my tractor since 2010 and have not used it after dark. I guess if I had to get the crop in and bad weather was coming...

So how big of a lot do you folks have, Jake?

    I'm back; lol

Did a lot more clearing of vines, made the pile, three times bigger than it was. Got to use headlights at the end, and they work good, have a hard time seeing when backing up though, they are so bright. Gave the tractor a bath and dried it; then took mine, getting ready for tomorrow, move that "big pile". Time to rest now. :)

How Big is your lot, John? And does your tractor have a seat belt? Mine does, and I've been wearing it; "just in case." One of our sons in law, has fifty acres, but he doesn't have a tractor; like I do. :D

I have 51 acres but only 6-7 are cleared "yard."

My tractor has a rollover bar (ROP) and a seat belt. Since my yard is pretty flat, I only use those safety features when I'm moving something heavy & awkward...like when snow, wind & ice knock down trees over our right-of-way. In those cases, the R.O.P.is always up and the seat belt is always on.

We only have a few acres cleared, for the house, but winding trails all around it.

Working still pulling vines, moved the big yesterdays, pile. Was talking, with my brother Bobby, on the phone today who's in ga., and was telling him about my tractor, and how much it cost me, $7.000.00, he saw it on fb, where I had put up a photo; he said that's a fine looking tractor; he said, I will give you $8000.00 right now. I told him no way; other than my "wife", that's my one true, "LOVE".

Tomorrow is "Hazardous Waste Disposal Day" at the county landfill. I have a bunch of old gas I need to get rid of plus some printers, and was gonna fill some 5 gallon diesel cans while I was out & about with the truck. I usually keep 5 of them filled and I'm down to 2 plus what's in the tractor, but I think I'm gonna roll the dice on a Trump victory and prices dropping back to normal before I run out.

I use StaBil for diesel, but for some reason the local auto parts stores stopped carrying it a long time ago. I can buy it at Tractor Supply (and just did), but they only carry the large bottle, and I never use up all of the small bottle even though it lasts 2 years after opening. In fact, I just emptied the dregs of a bunch of bottles of regular StaBil and diesel StaBil into one of the gas cans to dispose of tomorrow. The auto parts stores still carry regular StaBil and they carry other types of diesel additives, but those don't specifically state they are stabilizers.

I use Sta-bil and Seafoam both in both my diesel and my gasoline storage. I really noticed a difference in how my gasoline chain saws run with the Seafoam in the tank. My son the diesel mechanic says Seafoam is an anti-gel as well as a stabilizer. I was using a John Deere product for the diesel, but now I use the same two things PLUS an additional anti-gel just to make sure. There is little that is more disheartening than going to the tractor shed, starting the tractor to plow the driveway and having it die part way through due to diesel gel clogging the fuel filter. If that happens, I have to get it into the heated garage somehow and change the filter, then allow the tractor to warm and add some warmed fuel to the tank to ungel everything. Starting a diesel, even a little one, at -40 is a chore.

Are you saying you use StaBil and Seafoam concurrently in the same gas? Do you adjust the quantities or do you use both full-strength per gallon of gas?

I use both full strength and I have seen nothing but good. Seafoam says on the container that you cannot use too much. Stabil doesn't make such a claim. Seafoam can be used 50/50 with gas as a system cleaner too. You shouldn't need the anti-gel properties in Virginia.
