Right up there with watching the defrag mode of Windows 98, I found this video that, well, for whatever reason is uh…satisfying. I have to say that at some point I became highly engrossed with what the guy was trying to accomplish and even found myself mentally cheering him on.
Just as a follow-up to my last post, I have come to really like “Drain cleaning Australia” on YouTube. The guy is hilarious and his enthusiasm is highly reminiscent of Steve Irwin. I think next time I have to clear a drain, I’m going to fake an Aussie accent, cheer myself on to victory and tell myself I’d rather be cleaning a drain than sitting behind a desk in a cozy office and see if it makes a difference with my attitude.
Every day I thank God for allowing me to live to a fairly ripe old age and for the day ahead. I feel this is a positive thing.
Virginia Angler Breaks 30 Year Old State Rainbow Trout Record Grant Bentz caught this fish on June 9, and as he was driving home with it in his cooler, it occurred to him to see what the state record was. His trout beat the 30 year old record by 5 oz., weighing in at 14 lb., 12 oz. Grant caught this trout in a stream. The prior record rout was caught at a trout farm before the rules were changed. The interesting thing about this story is that Grant had the fish almost in his landing net a few days earlier, but it was so big it straightened the hook on his lure and it got away. He went back the next day and hooked the fish again with his first cast. This time the fish's teeth frayed the line and it got away again. Grant got a better look at it and realized it was larger than he had realized. Knowing that fish that size in a stream that small are always on the lookout for food, immediately after the second failure Grant went and had a cup of coffee with the property owner, and after an hour or so returned to the stream. The strategy proved successful because not only did the fish bite again, it was still fatigued from the recent battle. As a footnote, small streams like that can dry up in hot weather, thus diminishing the odds that a large fish like that would survive, so Grant had trout for dinner rather than releasing him, and plans to get a replica mounted.
With Trump's election, more and more of the world is realizing the insanity needs to be cured. Keep praying.
